Bungie’s Destiny Gets New Screenshots Showing Bikes and Advanced Ambient Occlusion

Can’t eveer get enough screenshots of Bungie’s upcoming massive shooter Destiny and today you get a new glimpse on the game, and on its advanced ambient occlusion tech.

Just a warning, Bungie's games never look as good as their earlier videos, ever. I like them as much as the next guy but they can be seriously deceptive with bullshots and misleading videos.

For Amazon.com they send you the code by email after you pre-order and then you go to the Bungie.net site and put it in to get in the beta..

You enter it in the code redemption portal --> and you get a message saying code redeemed successfully

And then when the beta can be downloaded you will get an email from bungie with a code to download it... I did mine in Feb.. it shows the date too of when you entered your code.

right you get a code that put you into the beta, but nobody will get the actually code till they send out invites tru email so technically we dont have beta codes yet

yeah they looks ok and is nothing new in it,we have seen these thinngs in other trailers,but i'am not saying game will be bad,it will ba mindblowing game,graphics are ok but gameplay matters more than graphics and i know gameplay is gona be amazing and game is gona be very fun.

Outside of the bike screen shot shown the Halo influence is way more than star wars. everytime I have seen gameplay I think this is more a next gen halo then a new bungie game.

Why, because they shoot guns? The character designs and much of the gameplay look very different. What would it take for you to think its not like Halo? would they have to do a visual novel or a soccer management sim?

Have you seen any gameplay from the game? It's physics and mechanics are almost exactly Halo. The size and openness of the environments feel like Halo as well.

The art direction is different and the weapons are different, but they have many of the same characteristics as Halo.

By the way.... That is not a bad thing... If you have solid gameplay, mechanics and general environment designs that are top notch then re-using them is good.

I know people are gonna disagree with me but this game for some reason just doesnt excite me. I like Halo for the scifi style FPS and for the realistic type FPS i go with Battle field.
Also cannot wait for the new Gears, that is going to be epic.

each epic, all different, but by the same people. thats what i look at when dropping $60 on something ive never played. would you say 343's halo is as good as halo 2? or gears judgement as good as gears 3? or Black ops as good as modern warefare 1? its the dev, not the licence.

To be honest though, naughty dog was never the pinnacle of anything in ps2 era, they had the ps3 made uncharted, was good, number 2 was amazing three was good. Tlou in my opinion is not good, im in the minority i know that, but i could not play that game through, ill buy it again ps4 give it another run, so im open to that, i buy almost every game at release so the money is nothing.

Naughty dog blew up ps3 era and were mediocre ps2 era.

I wouldn't be surprised if this technique ends up looking as good if not better than real-time rendered AO, which tends to be a bit flickering. Destiny looking brilliant as always.

Baked AO has historically looked better than real-time approximations.

Real-time AO can support dynamic environments.
Baked AO can look better.

Real-time AO eats up GPU cycles.
Baked AO takes up a lot of memory.

It's interesting that they're making a big deal about their new offline AO technique when everyone and their mothers are switching to real-time approximations.
