Hideo Kojima Thinks Metal Gear Solid V Won’t Be The End, but The next Could Have a Different Theme

Legendary Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has gone on record multiple times saying that he wants to quit the historical franchise, but apparently he isn’t so ready to stop telling the adventures of Snake’s war-torn universe.

Kojima has said the his vision for the games has always been limited by the technology of the time. Now that Technology is better, it could be making him more excited to make games.

Glad he isn't stopping. Was worried when two years ago he said that the controversy surrounding an "upcoming project" could make him leave the video game industry.

I'm guessing whatever he was worried about isn't as big of a deal as he originally felt it to be.

Fan's want more Metal Gear, and it's what's keeping Konami relevant at this point. However, given the MGS timeline, TPP feels like the the last Metal Gear game before reaching the plot of Metal Gear 1, which takes place in 1995. Kojima can always do FOX Engine remakes, and the Rising series will be the only thing to drive Metal Gear forward after that. Other than Metal Gear, yes, Kojima wants to make another Zone of Enders, but he, himself, also wants to reboot Silent Hill.

No please, don't bring Rising games into this. The original (stealthy) vision for Rising was amazing but Platinum turned it into a mindless hackfest.
There is still plenty of known stuff in the MGS universe untouched so real MGS games are very possible ...I really hope TPP will not be Kojimas last game for the franchise.

Rising is horrible for the Metal Gear Solid series plot, it should remain as an alternative universe that will not effect the outcome of the Metal Gear Solid stories. I would love a Fox Engine remake of Metal Gear 1 & 2. However, I want Kojima to start other projects than being exclusives to one, such as Zone of the Enders 3.

You have probably never played an MGS game in your life. Good sir. "Half Baked" is COD. Hideo goes out of his way to add details beyond imagination in his video games. Half baked is inFAMOUS:SS that game doesn't even have a swim mechanic! and after you finish the main story, there isn't much else to do in the game. THAT'S HALF BAKED. There has never been one MGS game that I haven't played REPEATEDLY even if the story is linear, there are so many details that you can miss if you don't play it right that you always want to play again. Not to mention the story that is also INCREDIBLY DETAILED. Lol... Your comment is pathetic on all fronts gtfo.

DAS692 ok mgs on ps2 was a good game for the time (yes i played it) but mgs4 (played that too) was the most contrived piece of media i have ever seen, what little game-play was there was sloppy, yes it may have been pretty, mostly in cut scenes, but it was nothing more then a jumbled mess of cut scenes and freakin fried eggs and emo fembot ninjas, i am sorry but there are too many kojima ass kissers in this world, hes nothing more then the japenese version of molyneux.

Where were you during Zone Of Enders, Boktai, Snatcher and Policenauts? Metal Gear was his main focus for the last couple years but he has shown that he is capable of making others. The question is it because of pressure from Konami or he has some backlog of information he would like to bring to light. What I believe that he simply hasnt found a successor to take the reins of the series yet. Also watch Dark City......it's much better than Inception.

I get what you are saying but those games even though great (I love Zone of Ender), are not the AAA blockbusters that is Metal Gear. I mean to say if he can create another game with Metal Gear potential. Think about it, Konami has been riding on Metal Gear for to d@mn long, they really need another new blockbuster franchise to ensure future survival of the company.

I do agree that he has ridden it for too long. What I would like to see him do is tie the knot to make the series full circle (at the end of Metal Gear 2). Anything beyond that make cause the series eat its own tail. Ground Zeroes pretty much started to split the franchise already however so the future has me worried as well.

He cant quit with mgs, because he got lucky with a hit. If you actually play the game and know the universe, read between the lines, you would see that mgs has a horrible story, too convienient of a plot.

He wanted to end it at 4, but Konami wouldn't let him, but now he's going to carry it on even further?

All I care about is that they get rid Kiefer Sutherland (nothing personal), he is just not the right fit for big boss at all. There's nothing hardened in his voice, no charisma, no maturity, no intelligence, nothing. When Kaz and Boss are talking it sounds like even Kaz would make a better Boss.

Get the guy who voiced Big Boss in MGS4 if they don't want Hayter or someone else. Terrbile jost casting Boss as Sutherland as his voice is literally ruining the game. He sounds more like a grunt or a foot soldier than the legendary soldier.

I think the length of Ground Zeroes has overshadowed how bad Sutherland is as Big Boss. This series is largely character driven and the voice for Big Boss is making it impossible to connect to the character.

Totally agree, I would be cool with Richard Doyle who voiced Big Boss in MGS4. I don't know why or how people are okay with Kiefer Sutherland. Sutherland is just awkward and weird. He has no charm, just cold and sterile. His voice is forever imprinted on my brain as Jack Bauer in 24 and nothing he can do is going to change that. The voice acting in Ground Zero's was really lacking compared to other games. I was even disappointed with the NPC Soldiers.

If he had quit then perhaps MGS4 might have been better but...... we now have the Fox Engine, KJProductions LA (MGO), and the game play of MGS5 is better than any stealth game. GZ is one of the most beautiful PS3 games, best enemy A.I ect ect. Its all looking good.
