The Last of US for PS4 With Enhanced Graphics Coming This Summer - PlayStation Turkey VP

Apparently during a show on CNN Turk PlayStation Turkey's VP Sercan Sulun said that The Last of Us will be coming to PS4 with enhanced graphics and Left Behind this summer.

I played recently. Very slow start but by the end I really got into it. Not one of the best games ever like I've seen n4g suggest but still very good. I don't see the need to double dip though. Especially as you pretty much are forced to play twice to start to get any trophies

when you get the game though don't play on easy and don't use the listen mode, cause it will cheapens the experience and ruins the stealth. Also the immersion is destroyed if you can't play it with the thought of not knowing where your enemies are.

We had Resistance, Infamous, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Motorstorm, LittleBigPlanet, Heavenly Sword, Heavy Rain, Beyond2Souls, and Modnation all have their debuts on ps3 this past gen made by Sony, most had 1-2 sequels done... Sprinkle in a bunch of other 2nd or 3rd party new ip exclusives like 3d dot game heroes, Demon's Souls and I hope that is enough for you to realize Sony has the new IP thing down.

The first batch of new Ip's were games like Folklore, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, Resistance; a couple were good games, but the best new Ip came in the second and third years of ps3: Uncharted 1 year to the day after launch. Littlebigplanet and infamous in 2008.

You shouldn't be worried about it.

Ive never played TLOU so I cant really say anything about it. But you make it seem like its best game in last 15yrs. Most reviews Ive read seem to love the story more than they like the gameplay. Man, I'll give it a go on PS4 if they release it! Not missing out especially with enhanced graphics!

Ive been saving up to get PS4 and Xbox One so I havent been playing any of the newer games! Plus im still playing older games I have yet to finish on PS3 and Xbox 360 before I move on!

Masterpiece is a tough word. Closest thing to a masterpiece for me has been XCOM.

However I greatly enjoyed mgs 4, jade empire, knights of the old republic, persona 4, dragon age, all GTA, the kingdom hearts series, almost any nintendo first party multiplayer game for GameCube (most underrated party system ever). Some may not be considered modern. None are masterpieces.

Edit: @bakpain its definitely worth it, the characters are what really get you. The gameplay is relatively cerebral, with some annoyances in encounters later in game. People say the ztory is amazing; it isn't. It follows several common zombie apocalypse threads, but the performances by joel and ellie as well as interactions between the two keep you in it.

Oh brother, not another remake..... How about a sequel instead, or an original IP from some of these developers that didn't make the originals! I'm sick & tired of being treated like a fool when a new game is announced, only for it to be a game I already owned last gen. I didn't buy a new machine to play games from the generation before.... I mean, Tomb Raider is another example that has already been dropped on PS4....Just damn well make a new one in the series, or move on entirely & give us something new, & something to get excited about. Your a easily satisfied, simpleton, if spruced up redo's of last gen games gets you excited.

I'm not understanding the need to port ps3 games to ps4. It made sense doing ps2 to ps3 so the games could be in high def and have trophies but the upgrade in visuals will be really minimal this new gen and a bit more unnecessary. Particle effects for the spores would be great. Real ones, not the pseudo particle effects in the current version.

Other things I'd like to see;
enhanced partner AI.
realistic brick & bottle physics. (bricks bounce off walls, can damage surfaces, bottles shatter into dynamic glass pieces depending on trajectory/surface/force)
everything off-map rendered physically so we can throw bricks/bottles at it.
smashable windows would be great.
better textures everywhere. I know they'll use source materials for high res textures but there were alot of parts with low quality textures in the original.
water/puddle physics would be cool.
all cutscenes rendered ingame.
randomly appearing enemies. (not based on time, but location)
partners sneak if you sneak, it needs to feel less scripted.
different ending(s). (atleast viewable as an extra)

a few unexpected additions for people who have already played the PS3 version would be great too. (would be nice to see new types of infected enemies, new segments, and maybe the zebra from the concept art)

Awesome, can't wait to see the graphical and performance upgrades. I know we'd be able to play this anyways on the PS4 through Playstation Now but for this game i'd much rather get the hd enhanced version.

shouldnt they be able to run this game in 1080p 3D 60fps per eye? not just 2D 1080p? the PS4 is supposed to be 8-10x more powerful than the PS3 not just twice as powerful. is there something im missing here? havent played it yet due to my launch PS3 yellow lighting so im pumped for this.

TLOU still get reward recently so there will be a chance that this game will fly high 1 more year if sony do it right

Loved this on the PS3 but I would NOT buy this again if I had the PS4. This would be a perfect buy for those who have yet to play the game and those obsessed with the original that need to play a spiffed up version for whatever reason.

Hoping they'll start taking a little more time before deciding to port things over, I don't think people are buying next gen systems to play dolled up last gen games.

Yeah! Ummmmmm nice thought but unlikely. The people over at the naughty dog camp do not have the time or resources to re-release TLOU on PS4. My guess would be A PS NOW version with no enhancements. Sorry to be a negative Nelly, but it is what it is

i really hope this is true. i never got the chance to play last of us because my ps3 died 2 years before its release. :(

I will buy this and I will enjoy my second play through of Last of Us... In my opinion this is one of the best games ever made...

But, Sony has to step up new and original game content for PS4... Knack wasn't exactly AAA, Killzone was OK but not great (Online solid though), and Resogun is the only game that I can say is really a must have on PS4 as original and new content. My opinion may change after I play some infamous... But, so far $400 is too much for what I have got from my PS4.

Why do people get excited about buying a game twice? It's good for those who never had a PS3 but im worried where the industry is headed now consumers are showing they will buy the same game twice.

You are wrong mate. By bying a game twice are showing the industry that a good game sells. And that will make them work harder to give us more fantasic games, and The last of us are a fantasic game. again fantastic games sells ;)

Yea, if we got more games like The Last of Us I would buy them twice to encourage it.

If this gets more popular I think they should come up with an upgrade price though rather than full price. There are costs involved to enhance the game for the next gen system, but not the same amount that went into the original development.

i don't think ND will do the remake, there will be high chnace that bluepoint will do it, they did excellent job with all the HD remade in the past

it will be very wise for naughty dog to do this (especially for ppl like myself who has switched from 360 to ps4 and never experianced the game) if this does happen they can take all the time they need for uncharted 4 (something tells me that game won't release till 2015). while the ps4 version of the last of us is out ppl won't be pressing them as hard and they will have more legroom to make uncharted 4 the best game ever.

The comments seem to fall into two camps: I've played it but I'd buy it again, and I haven't played it but would love to on the PS4. Seems like a no-brainer for them to make it. I'm in the second camp and was figuring I'd end up streaming it on PS Now but having a game developed specifically for PS4 is much better.

Didn't they say they weren't releasing it on PS4? I mean, yea it's exciting if it's coming to PS4 but I really wish companies would stop saying a game won't come to the PS4 if it's in the works. I get that they want to keep selling last gen versions and saying anything about a port would potentially lose those sales, but c'mon don't outright lie to us. Dance around the issue, say you're not sure, but don't say it's not happening. It's dishonest.

Hope its true, and really hope the upgrades are significant and not just some better looking port. Maybe add new chapters to the story?
