Ultra Street Fighter IV is the Return of Capcom’s ’90s Laziness

Davis from Denkiphile: "Like many, I was first ecstatic over the announcement of Ultra Street Fighter IV. After all, having played and watched tournament pros for almost two full years, I wasn’t sure what else there was in Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012 for us to discover, not to mention I wasn’t going to miss typing that name. However, as the information began to trickle in, the truth slowly began to unravel and I finally realized it last night: Ultra Street Fighter IV is the epitome of Capcom’s laziness that had plagued their titles in the 90s and we’ve all been fooled again."

They were always lazy. Almost all of their games were outsourced to third parties to develop. Street Fighter 4 was actually developed by Dimps. If Dimps was still on board, I bet they would go through the trouble of adding brand new characters into the roster for Ultra SF4.

No not always, but the 90s sure as hell wasn't a few years ago. I don't know where this guy's been.

I'm still hoping that capcom will release Street Fighter EX plus alpha and EX2 on PSN.

There's countless classic PS1 games I'd like to see come to PSN, chief of them being GTA 1 - London. Most of time when a PS1 game doesn't show up it's a matter of licensing or the lack of the source code, but sometimes... it's pure laziness.

I'd be happy with SF Alpha / Zero on the Japanese PSN, cuz it's still yet to be released in Japan...

@ Hac

Yeah, I was thinking about Project Justice just the other day.

My ex-girlfriend used to hate Momo.

I still have EX2 and EX3. Really under appreciated franchise.

Not even worth a free download.

The new character was a complete let down to me. Cammy with a mask? Really? You trolled the community for how long just reveal a Cammy clone. Whoever yes manned this horrible idea needs to be shot, stabbed, and hit with a brick.

Looking back to 2014 and Ultra Street Fighter IV

Jahanzeb writes: "It’s easy to make fun of fighting game revisions/expansions, but there’s no denying each entry bolstered the fighting roster and gameplay substantially, particularly with the swansong entry Ultra Street Fighter IV."

'After the release of Street Fighter III: Third Strike in 1999, Capcom took the cast of world warriors on a bit of a detour with the Street Fighter Zero/Alpha prequel series.'.

Alpha was released in 1995.
