....But how is the X1 being outsold by the PS3 week after week? The demand for an 8 year old console is stronger than a 3 month old next gen machine...that simply should not be happening.

Interesting how that even if you take away the Japan sales of the PS4, it still doubles the X1 sales.

A lot of people that didn't have ps+ before the ps4 are seeing the great value now since a lot of AAA titles are being offered through the ps+ game collection. It's just great when the service covers all Sony platforms. That way my PS3/PS4/PS vita library just keeps growing and growing without much of a hassle.

PS3 with PS+ is more of a value currently than a Xbox One. You're still improving your collection on your ps3 getting games like Bioshock:Infinite, Devil May Cry (Team Ninja), and Tomb Raider (Mar.4th). XBL games with Gold isn't offering anything close to this. Also some amazing discounts for being a PS+ member with "Games of 2013" sale.

They can't drop the price because investors don't want to take more of a hit from the Xbox Division than they already have. You're better off having a PS4 for amazing exclusives and upgrading your old gaming pc rig in the corner. I don't even see Xbox One being a companion system anymore. You can just throw a tuner card in your rig also and literally throw away your DVR.

This is why counting on Titanfall is futile. By the time that title hits, the PS4 will have close to a 3 million lead and Infamous: Second Son + MGS: Twin Snakes is going to keep the PS4 pretty even in sales for March anyway.

Since Stephen Elop took over the division, we've seen a price drop, Titanfall being given away and a new two year subscription for Xbox Live. Now people may think that's great, but Elop could be (as he was for Nokia) trying to create a more attractive proposition for a sell off. I'm not saying that IS the case but I'd certainly be weary.

Baring in mind that shareholders are not happy about Xbox and want to see it sold off (along with Bing), do people honestly think they'd be happy about these deals? If not -- and that's likely -- what could MS have said to keep them happy? A big pay off from a swift sale would certainly go some way to persuade them down this avenue.

As I said in another thread, Titanfall is the most important game MS have ever released and 'possibly' the most apt title for a new IP. Watch this space.

Sony is really killing it this time around. With ps+ you get great games for your subscription. You would be a fool not to pay for it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. By the end of 2014, PS4 will be at 20-22m consoles. Holiday 2014 will be a mess at stores. Xbones meanwhile, will be nicely stacked in abundance. I see Wii U at 13m and Xbone at about 13m too. PS4 will take away all its steam. Wii U is for other kinds of gamers. PS4 sales will not affect Wii U as much as Xboner.

Remember ealry years of 360 when it had a ton of exclusives even when the ps3 was launched? It's not silly, Xbox does not have World wide appeal of europe, asia to catch up. The only reason 360 did as well as it did was they rushed it out early and it was cheaper, we are seeing how string the Ps brand is WW versus xbox. sm only chance to even be competitive is outsell PS4 2:1 or more in the US, that is not happening.

1 of 3 scenarios.

1. They think (the multiplatform game) Titanfall is going to save the Xbox One.

2. They're trying to figure out who they can sell the division to.

3. They're going to switch the focus of the Xbox One and try (ex.) a more kid orientated market using Kinect and push TV features to your parents. Basically stop trying to compete with the PS4.

I'm not even sure how to respond, because I'm not exactly sure what your angle is, or where you're even coming from. Either you have misinterpreted my comment, or my intent, or I have misinterpreted your apparent interpretation.

So allow me to clarify:
Wii U first week sales in Japan raked up 307,471 units sold. PS4 raked in 322,083 units in its first week. Maintaining momentum is vital in Japan because the market is more interested in handheld gaming than console gaming. I hope they keep the sales up because I like Japanese console games, and I don't want the market to become such that there becomes less and less software on the console side versus the handheld side.

In case you think I might be trolling:
I might not have a PS4 at the moment, but I have long owned both Sony and Nintendo platforms(Heck I'm even one of the few Vita owners out there), though admittedly I'm actually a PC gamer first and foremost. The Legend of Zelda just happens to be my favorite franchise.... followed by Mass Effect... so whatever point you're trying to make, I really must confess I am lost. But it seems you are trying to make the assumption that someone with a Link picture, would only make such a comment to troll. I've been gaming since before people became so hateful and jaded. I go where the games are, and I enjoy games regardless of the console they appear on.

2 weeks ago all the PS3 models were sold out at my local Walmart even the 12gb models, at the same time there were 4 Xbox Ones setting in the glass case collecting dust.

PS4 stays in stock for maybe 2 hours at most at least here at the local Wally World and Gamestop.

It's thought in Japan, that Sony has abandoned the eastern market in favor of the western market, and that they no longer care for their home country as they once did in the days of PS2. Here's hoping they do right by their homeland.

Titanfall is the only hope the xbone have to make some good sales but giving the game for free really show the desperation Microsoft have. The problem is that 100% of Titanfall sales will not go to the xbone, they will go to PC and 360.

I've had mine for over 7 years now (80 GB) and working like brand new still!

I finally bought a next gen system and it was a PS4 I had to order it online in a bundle because no retailer with in 200 miles of me had a PS4 but I could have walked in anywhere an bought a xbone, if I wanted to waste money.
