Probably won't happen for PS+ since Sony makes a clear distinction between a PS4 game and a PS5 game, unlike PC and Xbox where it is not a specific device game (It's now always an Xbox game).
So to make the PS5 game of fallout 4 available. Bethesda would need to renegotiate the complete deal with Sony.
hence why there's often only the PS4 version of the game available on PS+.
Let's hope Bethesda and Sony can arrive to term quickly.
In that same link, they talked to further support who said PS+ owners aren’t eligible. What a load of BS! The upgrade worked just fine for FF7R. I was looking forward to this. 😞
PS5 upgrades for PS4 games on PS+ are hit and miss. The reason is usually that publisher doesn’t want to hand out free upgrades. Sometimes they offer the upgrade upfront, sometimes they are bullied into it, and sometimes they offer it later in a special edition that Sony buys for PS+. It looks here like Bethesda’s intent was to raise the profile of Fallout 4 (and sell some DLC) so I expect we will see an update for PS+ versions soon.
Bethesda themselves acknowledged that Plus users are eligible. There is just some kind of glitch and they are working to fix it.
Roughly a fiver for disc. It's also £3.99 on PSN right now for both PS4 and ps5 version.

I didn't know about this feature possibilities until now. Pretty cool if you ask me. It depends on the game, though.

And statement like this are exactly why the next 6 - 7 years is going to be a rough ride for X1 owners on every single multiplatform forum. Be honest, be proud and enjoy the exclusives.
i guess resolution or graphics doesnt matter too much. i mean it can help, but at the end of they day the gamer wouldnt care once he is playing the game... lucky i got ps4 though.
