Top 10 Greatest PS2 Games of All-Time

"Last week, we made a list called the Top 10 Greatest PS1 Games of All-Time. It was a difficult list to put together, as the original PlayStation has no shortage of classic titles, but we came away happy with what it was.

But now it’s time to gather and discuss the best PlayStation 2 games ever made, which has proven even trickier. You can make a rock-solid argument for the PS2 being the greatest console ever, and that’s largely in part to its outrageously vast library of classic titles.

These are the very best." - Velox

Cant be bothered going through it page by page on mobile!

All I know is that timesplitters 2 ffx and persona 4 should be on that list :p

Edit: and snake eater thanks batzi

Direct quote from malm07 "microsoft will beat sony this gen" not biast at all...

morganfell3712d ago

Don't bother. I cannot agree with a list which omits the PS2 title that in is release and for a time after had more people playing Multiplayer than all of Xbox LIVE combined.

Batzi3712d ago

No Sons of Liberty or Snake Eater? pfffft

MetalGearBear 3712d ago (Edited 3712d ago )

No twisted metal black and MGS3!!??

I forgot about resident evil 4.

higgins783712d ago

No Resident Evil 4 is good (on PS2), only since it looked SO inferior compared with the Gamecube version, sloppy seconds springs to mind. Yes, I would have included MGS3: Subsistence but each his own.

A particularly well observed top 10 I think, especially in the light of all the others knocked together quickly and with obviously little consideration. Okami being high on the list is all I was looking for...confirmed.

Remembering Medal Of Honor: The Forgotten Master Of WW2 Games

Ibrahim from eXputer: "The Medal of Honor franchise was once the crown jewel of FPS war games, later defeated by the tides of time and poor development."

banger883d ago

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

FPS_D3TH1d 14h ago

Was literally just thinking of this game the other week with the secret nut cracker mission and the shooting Bismarck dog lmao. Loved these games as a kid

PrecursorOrb1d 12h ago (Edited 1d 12h ago )

I wish they’d remake warfighter

Strictly for the campaign

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.

8 Years Later, It's About Time Sony Revives The Rest Of Ratchet And Clank

Hanzala from eXputer: "On this joyous 8th anniversary of the Ratchet and Clank reboot, it's about time Sony considers reviving the originals to complete the saga."

shinoff21834d ago (Edited 4d ago )

It's not the ideal situation but Sony does offer them on ps plus. I to would just like a big ass compilation on doscto though

Insomniac roadmap leaked a while ago and they are making another, they’re doing the best they can and these games, especially the last two, are master pieces

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC4d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos3d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga3d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer4d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya4d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde4d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP3d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.
