2011 sticks out to me as a particularly good one. Skyrim, Portal 2, Uncharted 3, L.A. Noire and Rayman Origins are all amongst of my all-time favourites.

Interesting how it comes in clusters isn't it? 2010-11 was indeed a fruitful period - and 1996-1998 was just insane.

Can't disagree with you there! Some of those early PS1 games hold up really well.

1996 was the best year in entertainment history.

* Go check out all the Music of various genres, Games on different consoles, and movies that were released in 1996.

Most epic year ever really in terms of pure quality.

1998 was the best year in gaming and it still is. The Nintendo 64, Playstation and PC all got multiple AAA titles, many of which are now classics in every sense of the word.

'91 for me. I was allowed to 'test' Sonic for 30 mins or so a few weeks before Christmas. Then I had to sit there and see my Megadrive being wrapped and placed under tree.

Suffice to say, the next two weeks of my life were filled with sleepless nights as I played the game in my head everyday until I finally got to unleash it. Think I completed it 3 times before Christmas Day had drawn to a close. *sigh*

2011 for me : Batman AC - The witcher 2 - Deus ex HR - Bastion - Dark souls - Portal 2 ... etc .
