PS Plus: Remember Me, Street Fighter x Tekken Free for Members

Posted by Kristine Steimer // Sr. Community Specialist: "We’ve got a one-two punch for PlayStation Plus members tomorrow, when Remember Me (PS3) and Street Fighter x Tekken (PS Vita) join the Instant Game Collection.

In Remember Me, you’ll create your own combos via the Pressen system, wherein successful attacks can heal you, lower your cooldowns or dish out extra damage. Your ultimate goal: take down an evil corporation that’s corrupting the minds and memories of the citizens of Neo-Paris.

Street Fighter x Tekken contains a character roster that pulls from two of the most iconic fighting games around, so pick a fighter from the legendary Street Fighter or Tekken series and get to battling it out with your friends. Fun fact: you can play against your friends who have the PS3 version of the game."

Tidybrutes3718d ago

Remember Me is actually ok, not as bad as reviews make it out to be.

Worth a try, and an easy platinum trophy too if you play on hard 1st time it can be done in one playthrough, although you'll probably need to re-do a few sections to get all the collectibles.

I agree, I actually enjoyed the story, the pacing, combat and exploration!!! The dialog however could use a ton of work! The actors weren't great at all.

I really liked Remember Me a lot. Sure it had it's weaknesses but I feel that reviews were way to harsh on it.

Conzul3718d ago

I was hyped for it but never played it.
Great that I get the chance now. PS+ spoils ....

Kivespussi3717d ago

I got remember me from EU PS plus and I personally think it's crap. Just an opinion though. I got past the first memory altering but stopped soon after. It's just not for me. Doesn't mean others will not like it but I just can't get myself to continue playing

Been waiting for Street Fighter! Not gonna lie I had it on PS3 and it isn't the best... but still nice to have on the Go on the Vita.

Love scramble battles. It's a bit unfair with how the health is handled, but it's pure fun with 4 players.

Chun-Li and Yoshimitsu are he!!@ broken in scramble battles.

Eonjay3718d ago

I feel overwhelmed by all the free games. And thats a good thing lol.

DeadMansHand3718d ago

I hear you. Every time i log in to the store I'm like "wait, how did I miss this one last time????"

I didnt. It's just more games they added since I was last on.

Remember Me - A Forgotten Gem

A Capcom classic, Remember Me, has ironically been forgotten in the 10 years since its release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

SimpleSlave319d ago

Sadly, Remember Me is not a forgotten Gem but a case of wasted potential. The best idea the game had was the Mind Remix Segments and the New Paris World setting, neither of which where really exploited or used well. Instead everything comes down to this just being pretty Beat'em Up and nothing more.

It does deserves a re-imagining though. Make it in first person and use something like the current Sherlock Holmes like gamedesign. Use some of that Deus Ex/Hitman mechanics and go all the way with the Memory Remix as the center piece.

Each case takes place in the mind of a victim, either dead, dying, or alive, and each level should be design like a Hitman level. Contained but chock-full of details. Investigating in the real world give you hints and clues as to how you can help or mess up a person's memory. Make this a player's choice. You can add combat but make it tasteful and short IF combat is required. Make the combat fit the narrative and the setting. Like a Boss fight taking place in the Mind of a CEO that's hiding a dark secret. Or a victim injected with some nasty Nano Machines trying to erase her memories so she can't be scanned by the Memory Remix Agent. Stuff like that. Again, make these short, sweet and to the point.

The potential for a classic is there but the original wasn't even close to being it.

Street Fighter X Tekken - A Look Back at the Franchise's Biggest Misfire

With Street Fighter 6 now upon us, it's time to look back at some classic Street Fighter titles, beginning with Street Fighter X Tekken.

boing1321d ago

It was a cool gamble imo. In reality, everyone were waiting for Namco version, Tekken X Street Fighter.

Ryuha1234h321d ago

I don’t know. I enjoyed this game. I thought it was a great crossover.

TricksterArrow320d ago (Edited 320d ago )

Yep, played very little of it, but from what I played, it was serviceable enough. Could've been better? Yes, but then again, you can say that about pretty much anything.

maniacmayhem320d ago

What killed this game was their planned reliance on GaaS with the whole gem system. It made little sense and made the game extremely unbalanced. Not to mention the unbalance of most of the characters, especially on the Tekken side

Sgt_Slaughter320d ago

Ahhh the game that Capcom had DLC on the disc on release yet you had to pay to unlock it
