I dont get it they are saying its hard to port ps2 games to ps3 but yet metal gear solid 2 & 3 hd remake on xbox and ps3 had no problems... Bad squeenix lying is bad!

(Still buying this though ^.^)

MegaRay3715d ago

Why is it hard to believe they're having problems porting a game from ps2 to PS3/vita? Maybe they lack talent but not lying :P

djplonker3715d ago (Edited 3715d ago )

I meant it was used as an excuse maybe they do lack talent

(Oh and persona 4 that went from ps2 to vita no problem! )

vergilxx33715d ago

Don't compare Pesona 4 to FF it's way different in coding.
And do not forget that they had to remaster 2 games
and all textures and soundtrack and add new content while persona is straight port with only new content

WildArmed3714d ago

Well ps2 had the emotion engine, so direct ports obviously won't work on the cell.

Different architecture problems.

It's not that SE is lying, it's just that it's hard.

Companies like Konami handled it really well, and most internal HD remasteries by Sony.

But then you have remamastries by Capcom, and it shows that there were issues.

I'd much rather recieve a Konami/sony type HD re-mastery than a capcom type, so please take the extra time, SE.

HaHa_Ostrich3714d ago

To be honest, Konami rather screwed up with the Silent Hill HD remaster. Even though they patched it later (to some degree), it was hard to swallow.

WildArmed3714d ago

@Above

OHHH I knew I forgot about something.

Yes you are right, it was a really bad port. Thanks for reminding me!

Simco8763715d ago

Man I was so sick of waiting for the remake I just emulated FFX on my PC awhile back...now I have no desire to revisit the game...even in HD.

Game is still awesome btw.

Snookies123715d ago

I was tempted to do the same, but I managed to hold out luckily lol.

djplonker3715d ago (Edited 3715d ago )

I bought a second hand ps2 last year on amazon so I could play ff10 ff12 and persona 3 it is an original chunky beast and works a charm not one fault with it :D

I got stuck on ff10 around 60 hours in and gave up until I get the vita version :3

ff10 & south park rpg & darks all in the same month Its going to be awesome!

adorie3715d ago

Did the same, the textures are very sharp, but still flat, the new textures in the remake look pretty much re-done,but to be honest, FFX-2 and FFXII look fantastic once you setup the emulators graphics settings properly, the result is a very crisp image with spell effects and such blended in very smoothly.

The bonus? Original soundtrack and character models, lastly... NO LIGHTNING! :)

WildArmed3714d ago

Yup, always been jealous of PAL version of FFX.

I'm glad i'll finally get to play it.

WildArmed3714d ago

Well for one you have higher res textures, and much more importantly, you could not get international edition content in the US.

This is the first time they've released it in the US, so there is a very good reason to pick it up right there!

Lastly, new soundtracks, sound be interesting!

adorie3714d ago

International came out in Pal territories. You could buy a used copy, dump it and be ready for HD goodness in no time. I did a few years back.

YOU NEED TO LOUDER. They said the fans really need to demand it.

Yuji Naka guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of lies

Yuji Naka was fined $1.2 million and given a suspended jail sentence for the crime.

Profchaos9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle8d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger8d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag7d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

jznrpg11d ago

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
