Battlefield 4 PS4 Review - Winning the War [Dealspwn]

Dealspwn writes: With the Christmas release schedule being so packed, some games slips through the cracks. But here at Dealspwn it's never too late to give you a verdict on a game. After all, in these modern times developers are able to add patches to their games to fix issues that may have been around at launch. The next-gen launch versions of Battlefield 4 on PS4 and Xbox One had a few teething issues, so maybe time (and a few patches) have proved to be a great healer. I’m about to find out as I dive into Battlefield 4 on the PS4.

Oh I am so glad they reviewed this game so quickly so I could decide if it was worth buying
/s

Is there really a point reviewing a game this long after release? Everyone who was on the fence at launch has moved on and the game has a really good community who would buy it regardless!

Erm... how about the huge number of people who've been holding off spending £50 because of the massive amount of (deserved) negative publicity regarding netcode and stability? BF4 has been getting slammed over the last few months - and I still haven't bought on any console because I didn't want to spend money on broken product.

By the looks of this review, we've got a green light.

GuyThatPlaysGames3712d ago

Here is quick overlook for you. I've had this game on my PS4 since launch. The amount of negative publicity towards this game is rediculous. Everyone labels the game as unplayable or completely broken. Trust me, this game is far from either of those 2. It had a rough start. There was terrible lag, sound glitched almost all the time, and pop ups. I still play BF4 about 6 hrs a day now and I come across a sound glitch maybe one time if at all. As long as you connect to a lobby with a good ping then I've never experienced lag. I'm not a PS4 fanboy or BF fanboy just so you know. I hope that helps.

@OVOXO_Mike

I completely agree with you. The game was nowhere as broke as the media made out. The first month was ropey and I got dash-boarded twice with an error code and once encountered the revive glitch which was fixed soon after.

There are/were far, far, far worse games to get released over the years.

Thehyph3712d ago (Edited 3712d ago )

The only green light that this still unfinished game deserves is to go in the toilet.

They'd rather make add on content and push a $50 premium service than fix the game?

I don't know which to blame, DICE or EA, but I know there's no integrity. I give no respect.

Edit: I bought this game last week. It crashed six times and deleted my save in one week. That's unacceptable.

Agreed with OVOXO_Mike

Got the game day one and for me it's one of the best games I have ever played,I hated BF3 on the 360 it was trash, but I heard so many good things about BF4 so I bought it,I traded in KZSF today and rarely play Ghosts and when I do I just think to myself how inferior the game is to BF,especially conquest, I'm new to BF but trust me buy this game it's amazing (stability has been good hardly any lag but today I did just drop dead for no reason??? On the whole though I have had a blast, graphics on PS4 are insane ;) )

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

-Foxtrot749d ago

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw250748d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface748d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop748d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno748d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel749d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps748d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge102888748d ago (Edited 748d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k33748d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge102888748d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH748d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

There's a bunch of great shooters on gamepass; both legacy and new.

A recommendation I have is a work in progress preview title called Anacrusis. It's a lot of fun, and has a cool aesthetic.

5 Games That Started Out As A Buggy Mess

KeenGamer: "Sometimes a game starts out as a buggy mess and we all just stop and think, “that definitely could have spent a bit more time in the oven”. This is the case for these 5 games which infamously marked their place in recent game memory."
