These are some keywords used by Persona director Katsura Hashino in his last interview to describe what Persona 5 will be all about. We didn’t get very much in terms of details, but there is practically a 4-course feast of reading between the lines. We gamers are pretty good at that, for better or worse. The proverbial gears have been turning quite some time now in the craniums of faithful Persona followers worldwide to make sense of it all. We’ve grown in number quite exponentially over the years, so believe me when I tell you that’s a lot of grinding. So what could these words possibly be spelling out for what has arguably become the most anticipated JRPG of the last few years? The possibilities are just teeming with potential.
Since its release in 2016, the "Persona 5" series has won numerous game awards around the world and received enthusiastic support from everyone, with cumulative sales of over 10 million units worldwide.
In the world of video games, there’s no genre quite as notoriously difficult to get into as the Turn-Based RPG. Lets review a few RPGs you can play if you’ve tried the biggest and best in turn-based combat and never found it appealing.
Sea of stars while seeming pretty good so far doesn't belong in the top rpg discussion. There's way better ones. I'd tell them to play star ocean 2. One of the best non turn based rpgs ever. It has everything.
The Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, or the Shadow Hearts games has decent enjoyable turn based combat system.
The studio was on the verge of collapse when Persona 3 came out, and things were looking quite grim for Atlus. Regardless, many decisions made in the game paid off and became a staggering success.
Years ago, I was emulating the game on my laptop and the old thing died when I was about to get to the final boss. I'm more than happy to buy this remake when it comes out so I can finish it!
At the time I was immersed in SMT Nocturne and later DDS. I did not realize at all how important Persona would become for me years later.
Persona 3 FES was the first one that I played in the series. Looking forward to the remake.
Well, of course it will be deep, if you played previous games in the series you'd know too.
This is the biggest reason I still keep my PS3 btw.
Pissed I had to get rid of my PS3. I know I'm an idiot. Hopefully it will come to PS4 or more likely Vita. But yeah Persona games do have a really deep meaning behind them. It's just part of what makes them one of my favourite series of games
If you had to get rid of your PS3 to get a PS4 (bad choice IMO), this will be the game to haunt your dreams. The PS3 is a JRPG monster right about now.
I'm liking the darker tone that harks back to earlier Persona games.
The comparison between Persona 5 and Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne in subject matter has me very excited.
My PS3 will be getting lots of use. Haven't played any Persona games before but I have heard great things.
