Ryan McCaffrey's Top 50 Games of All Time

by Ryan McCaffrey:

Being asked to list my all-time favorite games -- when so many of them span drastically different, impossible-to-compare eras -- is an extremely difficult job. Not compared to, say, working construction for a living or doing something else that actually benefits society in a tangible way, but if you ask me it’s simply not fair to compare Halo to Super Mario Bros. 3. Still, I’ve done my best to narrow this down as much as possible, and I got my list down to 11. Sorry, I just couldn’t do ten! I look forward to discussing my picks with you in the Comments below, and be sure to click all the way through to the third page of the feature for the 39 other games on my list that didn’t quite make my top 11.

Solid list but 50 isn't enough.

I'd say 200 is the minimum for an accurate measure of the best games of all time.

I'd prefer a top 500 to be honest.

I've played a ton of games since the late 80's though so maybe that is why.

At least he did 50.

Can't stand the lazy top 10 or even lazier top 5 lists of anything.

Im pretty sure he was just mention the first 50th games that come to is mind that he enjoyed and remember the most.Really if right now someone ask me tell me my 50th most beloved games i will probably could only tell 10 to 20 and most likely i will not remember the one i love most because there are so many games that i did enjoy greatly but i dont remember them anymore i would need run a list and say "yes this one was great that moment..that boss fight...".Its really hard after 30th+ years of gaming to tell and remember all the big moments.

True, although I do remember specific parts of a lot of games I've played, most of it is based on overall impact or feeling the game left me once I had played it a lot of beaten the game.

I wasn't knocking the list, or at least not trying to. Like I said, at least he took the time to include 50.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
