Unsung Story has had a pretty rough Kickstarter and are currently projected to be shy of their Kickstarter goal by by roughly $50,000. Twinfinite has taken to analyze the many updates that the game has had to clarify some of the daunting questions the project has had.
OVERRIDER is a new sci-fi roguelite about hoverboarding and smashing robots, and there's a Kickstarter campaign to help get it funded.
Cinnabunny and Time is Honey are currently up to be crowdfunded on Kickstarter right now. They're both adorable.
Earlier this week, Yasumi Matsuno - writer and director of Final Fantasy Tactics - replied to a fan on Twitter and cleared up those remaster rumors. When asked if the developer could add a progression system to the game's Ultima spell in any potential remasters, Matsuno replied: "Currently, there are no plans for remastering," before asking the fan (and others) to direct any requests to Square Enix instead of them.
Would love to see a full-on remake of Tactics some day. Superb game. I still remember my second or third playthrough, finding out that a certain "other" Final Fantasy character could be recruited... Kind of blew my mind haha. (Even though they started at level 1 unfortunately.)
That's a real shame. I was hoping they would do a Tactics Remastered which included the PS1, GBA and DS titles. 3 of my favorite games of all time.
Hopefully he's just trying to mislead everyone. I would love a Final Fantasy Tactics remake. I have such fond memories of playing this and Tactics Ogre, growing up. Tactics Ogre got a remake now its Final Fantasy Tactics turn. I would buy it day 1.
This actually hurts. I was playing Tactics Ogre Reborn and thinking how amazing it’s going to be to have current-gen HD Remaster or Remake of FF Tactics… really bummed out by this.
Maybe no remaster cause it's being remade Ala star ocean 2 style. I'd love to see a full on ff7 remake looking tactics game but star ocean 2 remake style is acceptable.
Why is it failing?
Poor presentation.
Low awareness.
You can't simply post of kickstarter page and expect people to find it. You have to WORK at making people aware of it. Throughout the ENTIRE run.
The last 48 hours or so should be an advertising blitz--doing interviews with big youtube personalities, delivering staggered batches of content like artwork or something as "news" to sites like N4G, etc.
No one is going to donate to a kickstarter that's already "failed" before the drive is even over.
This is a great example of how NOT to run a potentially massive KS campaign.
"The game will also have roughly 25 missions, which is smaller than many of the other Final Fantasy Tactics games and there are no side quests or random battles. There are plans to expand this out post release."
Lol, I'm glad I didn't donate. And really, no main characters? Seems pretty boring to me since one of the main focus on FFT was to read (and play!) Ramza's recently discovered journey and everyone involved. Just mentioned FFT because people keep comparing them, but they have nothing to do with each other.
I mean, could be fun to play sometimes as Wiegraf, sometimes as Ramza, or even have a chance to be Marquis Elmdor, but because they are cool characters in a cool concept and we all know that, but how can this game be appealing if they don't show what kind of characters expect us?
