Is Dead Rising 3 One of the Best Zombie Games of All Time?

Gaming For The Elderly - Let me start this off by saying, yes I love Dead Rising 3. I think it’s a fantastic game, and my level of enjoyment to this point has me wondering just how good is Dead Rising 3 in terms of Zombie games?

I agree, Resident Evil 2 & 4 and I would say Three also were up there.

As far as Dead Rising, yes it's up there also. It's so much content and things to do it's crazy. I also like the fact that they add more zombie types as the game goes on

I'd say it's up there, but Zombies Ate My Neighbors is just narrowly beating it out on my list. Only do to it being a great early gaming memory.

Yes. Dead Rising 3 was the best launch game on either console... even at 720p 24fps.

Possibly the best launch exclusive.... maybe. I would give it to Forza. Personally, I don't like DR3. I regret picking it up.

First mistake: buying it on PS4.

Second mistake: playing the campaign.

My game crashed maybe 4 times before Christmas, a few audio bugs here and there. Since around the holidays I haven't had a single problem. At no point did I have enough problems to deter me from playing what is very obviously, to any self-respecting gamer, the best that either next-gen console has to offer.

That's all there is to it. Now feel free to keep whining like a schoolboy.

including 13 gb patch that does nothing? Don't be ignorant...def not the best launch title...Need for speed was a very under appreciated game and BF 4 (even with all it's bus) got higher scores.

It's not a bad game...but let's not get carried away.. there are plenty of zombies games out there even now that are better and others that completely revolutionized a generation.

11gbs of the 13 are replacement files and the other 2 was the real patch.

And yet, it's metacritic score is still higher and is still one of the most popular launch titles out for the next gen systems.

The answer was ignorant because it feels very one sided. There are plenty of great games that came out for both the Xbox one and Ps4 at launch including Resogun, NFS, Forza,Battlefield 4, Assasin's creed 4....I mean there were plenty of amazing games at launch..I don't know why people need 50 games to release at once.

I personaly think we get WAYYYY to many game releases now..I can't keep up at all anymore.

L4D is great, but I played L4D2 last week and it feels really outdated. Clunky as hell compared to a lot of FPS games.

Depends on what you're looking for in a zombie game. While I absolutely adore the game, I can't help but desire a zombie game that has the foreboding atmosphere and (seeming) exploration of The Division, where you must survive scavenge for supplies, and hold up at night...

I think you're thinking of Dying Light, not The Division (that game looks awesome too though).

Dead Rising 3 looks like a lot of fun with a ton of stuff to do in it, unfortunately I missed out on this one. Dying Light looks really fast and strategic with the day/night cycles and scavengin and setting traps though, so I'll definitely have to give that one a try when it comes out.

Dead Rising 3 is awesome! So much to do and the weapons and vehicles keep me busy for hours. I always lose my way story wise because I'm too busy racking up zombie kills....

Yes it is. I played it for a almost 40 hours now and it is what a open-world zombie game should be. Glad I bought a XB1 to have a chance to play this great game.

The fact that is even being debated lets you know all you need to know about the quality of games for the XB1 this gen. I loved playing Dead Rising 3, didn't really play 1 or 2, now I feel like I missed out. Great game, good graphics, and most importantly fun experience.

Not even close, this game is terrible. I don't consider it a zombie game, when i think zombie game i think resident evil, and walking dead, dead rising is more of a joke of a zombie game that tries to be funny.

Did you even play Resi 1 on PS1? The intro movie was one of the funniest, cheesiest jokes in a generation. Does the hand puppet ring a bell? It was still a cracking game.

1st of all i have played the demo, and i have played dr 1 & 2 its like the saints row of zombies game so im not feelin it. and Infamous looks amazing. if you wanna mention games that have nothing to do with this then titanfall looks decent, ill pick it up

In my opinion I enjoy DayZ standalone more than dead rising 3 (my buddy has it and we've co op-ed the he'll out of it.) Once again though that is my opinion. DayZ standalone is way more immersive than Dr3 as per I feel like I am in the game trying to survive not only zombies but also against my fellow survivors. An element that is beyond unpredictable as most kill you for your very few goods but there are some that will help you out. It's kind of like the lotto.

DR3 is fun.... but doesn't get my vote for best because outside of more zombies on the screen, it's been done before. The first one gets more of a vote for best zombie game just because of the innovation it brought to the era of zombie games

I haven't played DR3, but it is the one game I would like to see on PS4 out of all the XB1 launch titles.

The remake of RE1 on GameCube was phenomenal. Resident Evil 4 was brilliant, but not strictly a zombie game. Left for Dead is up there, and the sequel. My favourite is probably the original Dead Rising. I loved that game.

I will admit Dead Rising is good, I was one of the guys talking crap about it back when I saw videos during E3. DR 3 is probably the best game on XB1, its the game I play the most with KI and then Forza while Ryse is now collecting dust.

Can't help but think of it as a Dynasty Warrior clone than a zombie game because the zombies never come off as a real threat. There's never been a "meet zombie for first time, crap pants" scene like with RE.

Dying light is looking to be "the best" game in the actual genera, but DR only comes off as being campy gore-fest fun.
