Well I would rather be able to say better late than never, I mean look at Sony and the PS3, everytime a new update was required you would have people all over the planet enjoying their new bricks... Thanks but no thanks, luckily I escaped that. Bottom line, better safe than sorry.

That was always fake thanks to MS releasing an actual update that bricked 360s once (1 in 10,000 got bricked) Which MS pulled within 24 hours. Everytime after that MS fans went onto sony forums with every firmware release near enough claiming there fake ps3s were bricked to try put people off buying ps3s.. Last gen wars got ugly.. This one started off bad too with the fake dead ps4 reports on amazon.. I really hate fanwars..

Exactly. It is an update to provide convenience to us xbox one gamers, not system integrity as if the OS is failing or causing issues. So take their time indeed which is only a few days at most.

Angainor, and all, clearly this has nothing to do with common sense, its just another X1 fail as far as others see it. Its good they backed off and get it right, rather than brick and crash consoles, corrupt save games and so on.... Who cares if its of a day or two....

Yeah, I have a PS4 as well I moved it into my computer room. Waiting for Infamouse to come out finally lol. Yeah, I don't see these system updates as a big deal or a problem, as long as they are working out the kincks I am happy. Look at how much the 360 changed since launch. Yeah, time will tell just looking forward to some games, and initially was hyped about thief, but have a feeling its not all that.

Im ok with waiting. Take your time MS, dont rush a incomplete patch. Plus when it goes LIVE (the update) its gonna take alot of stress on the servers. If you think about it there isnt a BIG BUTTON u push and it uploads the update. The Servers r worldwide so they need to upload it across numerous time zones.

LOL i love it when ppl try to say "i have both i know there is no big gap" when its blatantly obvious that the gap is just as big as ppl said it was when you get multiplat games running at half the rez on the xbone and worse fps, ppl cant just pretend its not there because it is, and thats just the last gen remakes like COD ghosts, wait to see what happens when the games are made just for next gen and the gap is bigger. There is no way on earth xbone will have a multiplat run as well on it along with having the same graphics, the hardware wont let it happen. No driver updates will change that because they both get them. Lets just stop denying the truth and then we can start talking about games again instead of the giant gap.

i owned an xbx 360 and one of the many things ms always did right was the quality of the fall and spring updates and with that said,i believe we can all expect ms to take the same approach with the xbx one. They will definitly make the console better over time as they did with the 360. I think its better that they fine tune and get rid of all bugs in the update before release and then they might just decide to include one or two more features with the final code.

@christocolus : I agree with what you said. Yet I am disappointed that they didn't find the problem before announcing the release date.

I was hoping to wake up this morning a and see a prompt asking me to accept the update that would have added some welcomed patches to my system, because M$ told me 2/11 was the date. So that was a downer for me.

Having said that, I prefer they fix or add new content, than to release a problem or unfinished content.

I have no problem waiting a couple of days for MS to release an update that they feel comfortable with releasing, rather than them releasing something incomplete that could possibly brick my system. If you can't handle the wait, you should probably seek some kind of professional help.

There's an old adage, "Measure twice, cut once." I don't own an XB1, but I'd rather see MS spend time to get it right then deploy, than rush it out and have to patch it or have it cause problems.

It may be a bit disappointing that they announce a date and miss it, but this happens all the time, especially when you get in to the different types of testing before launch.

Yeah it does still play games but why are we with out the basic ability to check our hard drive? Or to even tell if our controller battery is low. I rather them get the update out correctly but more importantly why did they gimp out the basics to begin with? My guess is cutting corners because it was rushed.
