Must be tough having a popular game and making lots of money. Really feel sorry for the guy.

hellzsupernova3719d ago

This guy is an asshole, what is so difficult about making 50k a day, just chill out and take in that sweet sweet cash.

Why is he having a. Meltdown for? We're not pressuring him into making a sequel or calling I'm a sellout or nothing.

Kran3719d ago

People actually send him angry messages to him for making such an infuriating game.

Sort of the same situation with Phil Fish.

Muffins12233719d ago

Maybe he feels like shit when people like you bash his work and just feels like its embarrassing for him to be known as the guy who made flappy birds?Thats just my opinion though....

TomShoe3719d ago

Eh, some people just can't handle the criticism that comes with sharing their games to the public.

GadgetGooch3719d ago

The guy obviously doesn't like money.....

Back-to-Back3719d ago

@hellzsupernova
Just because he is making really goood money doesnt make him exempt for criticism and stress.

This game is a total ripoff of Piou piou vs. Cactus and Super Mario Bros combined. Wouldn't be surprised if they got a Cease and Desist after the whole Trademark fiasco that just happened with King.

No good thing ever happens with lawsuits and videogames, judges are just way to out of the loop for it to even register. Just like the google+ youtube thing, trying to call copyright infringement on the actual holders of the copyright. I understand they're just trying to cover their own ass so they can't be held accountable under the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act, I'll drop a link, this is what's been screwing with digital content and media streaming the most), but they're doing it in all the wrong ways.

Or he could just be a Diva, and can't handle the success of his game, not sure. Personally I'd be more than happy to get hate mail for his paychecks, f* what people think.

Get personal accounts for actually talking to people, if people are spamming you just drop that account, it's not rocket science. F* the haters, I'd take a death threat with a finger and a smile. You come at me sideways though you'd better prove it

Hellsvacancy3719d ago (Edited 3719d ago )

All the guy has to do is remove his Twitter account etc, just don't use the internet....... unless your buying stuff

FamilyGuy3719d ago

It amazes me how some people are just incapable of ignoring social media. I mean serious, just ignore people. :/

Baka-akaB3718d ago

You guys claiming he got it easy and just "do things" actually got it easy , you're not the ones harassed and pressured , how'd you know how it feels ?

"just get off the net"

Yeah how does that work when people still seek you irl ?

Dee_913718d ago

Its insane how quick this game blew up.First flappy bird article was posted here about a week ago, and nobody knew what it was. Now look. it has 2 articles in the top news lol.But I can understand why he would take it down. Not everybody care about money that much. This game infuriated millions of people, and millions of people "expressed" those emotions to him.It could get to anyone.

Love it or hate it, this is awful. I can't believe people have harassed and pressured this indie to the point where he's willing to pull his game despite it's runaway success rather then deal with the users. If you don't like it, but on what planet is acceptable to harass the developer?

What the hell is wrong with this picture?

SilentNegotiator3719d ago (Edited 3719d ago )

While he deserves some of the criticism, having basically completely knocked off another game, it's terrible that he's receiving so much harassment.

Seems like a Phil Fish situation. You can't expect a SINGLE PERSON to take the weight of all of that harassment sitting down.

edit: Sheesh, all of the "but money!" comments are downright embarrassing. Do that many people these days really think that money buys happiness?

dillhole3719d ago

Maybe he's getting threats, maybe Nintendo want to sue him for stealing Mario's pipes. Making money from something doesn't solve all your problems. Some people just can't handle being in the spotlight.

kaozgamer3719d ago

Step 1: Tell people he's going to delete it
Step 2: More people download it in order to experience the infamous Flappy Bird
Step 3: profit

SilentNegotiator3719d ago (Edited 3719d ago )

Only if he's really lying.

Otherwise, it's a free game. If this were about the money, he would be worried about long term popularity, not a short burst of new people playing it and then no new players ever again.

SilentNegotiator3718d ago

Looks like you were a little off...

Step 1: Get harassed both online and in real life.
Step 2: Remove Flappy Bird from app store.
Step 3: Get on with your life, doing your best to avoid insane people.

bakasora3719d ago

Mind = blown
Somebody don't want money.

Pozzle3719d ago

I think he mentioned on twitter that he has been harassed and stalked (online and in real life) by people ever since the game became popular. So I get why he would want that to end.

SpiralTear3719d ago

As much as I dislike Flappy Bird, I honestly didn't expect him to decide on this, especially right now at the peak of its popularity.

Vegamyster3719d ago

I'd assume he might be worried about getting sued if it continues to grow, the Super Mario World aesthetic is so similar.

fenome3719d ago

Especially with what's going on right now with King and Candy and Saga. People can use grey areas now to try to sue you, who knows

Noctis3719d ago

whats so hard about having a successful game and gaining tons of money for it??

ruefrak3719d ago

If I've learned anything from Puff Daddy it's "Mo money, mo problems." Sudden success and fame can be quite intimidating.

fenome3719d ago (Edited 3719d ago )

Just look at Justin Bieber...or was that Miley Cyrus? I get 'em confused, they look like twins. Lmao

MNGamer-N3719d ago (Edited 3719d ago )

Sounds like he may be getting heat from the Indonesian Mafia

fenome3719d ago

They're bringin the heat!

Well, in their food at least.. That shit's spicy! Ha!

inf3cted13719d ago

Looks like he was cashing out and suddendly nintendo went after him.

Meet the victims of digital distribution – games you can't buy anymore

When a game released exclusively digitally disappears from distribution, it becomes impossible to play it legally. Actually, quite a few gems have disappeared in this manner, with the legendary P.T. being just the beginning of the story.

I heard FlappyBird will be only available for the iOS user on the iPhoneX

Fullmetalevolust2397d ago

well, that's just criminal, hehe.

Zjet2397d ago

Its a 32bit app. iOS 11 is only compatible with 64bit apps.

App developers have been informed for the last 2 years that they need to update their apps to avoid this problem.

Customeers have been made aware with every new firmware update but no one reads patch notes.
