Xbox 360 – 260

Can't wait to see PS4 numbers !

RPG_Lover3732d ago

Everything but 3DS is seling terribly.

3DS should see a boost this week, but everything should drop even further.

Zefros3732d ago

If 3ds is selling good then vita is too lol. Only 6k diff.

Faztkiller3732d ago (Edited 3732d ago )

Actually the 3DS sold like 37,000 right cause you have to add them together? But vita is doing OK. I have no idea why people pick 3DS over a vita.

Concertoine3732d ago (Edited 3732d ago )

17k difference counting both 3ds models. Vita is doing pretty good though, its been a while since its last major release.
Edit: 15k difference if you count vita tv sales.

ABizzel13732d ago

@Faztkiller

Your comment was fine until you made it a competition. "I have no idea why people pick 3DS over a vita."

Japan: Because 3DS receives SIGNIFICANTLY more Japanese developer support, and has proven and established IP's on the platform.

EU: Proven IP's and entry price helps it outsell the Vita.

NA: Again, Proven IP's and entry price helps it outsell the Vita.

The Vita should pick up the pace once, Vita TV hits EU and NA, but they need to patch all the problems first and replace that DualShock 3 with a DualShock 4 and allow the touch pad to work like the front touch screen.

On a side note, after looking at all these sales charts, the 3DS is blowing away in Japan, but actually only doing well in NA and EU. Looking at the PS3 and 360 sales they were pulling in 6 - 8 million annually in their best region alone, while the 3DS is just doing great across each region 4M NA and EU, 5M Japan (the real success story).

It also has me wondering just how much the PS4 is going to sale when it launches. Since sales for everything are way down, from January of 2013.

Hicken3732d ago

I miss the days when Nintendo fanboys were banished to the dark recesses of this site. Dealing with Xbox fanboys is bad enough; having to put up with delusional comments like this us almost enough to drive a crazy man sane.

Numbers are down for everything. The 3DS is only doing well because of having two SKUs.

In any case, that will likely change once the PS4 launches soon. Expect better Vita sales, and if Sony ever gets around to the compatibility problem, the Vita TV should see a significant increase as well.

Concertoine3732d ago (Edited 3732d ago )

Im not even a nintendo fanboy... im stating facts. Vita has 2 SKU's. Vita and vita slim. 3 counting vita tv. The 2ds isnt out in japan.
Theyre both selling okay considering theres a bit of a game drought and the ps4 is coming soon, i dont get why you bash him for downplaying vita then go and downplay the 3ds.
This site, geez.

RPG_Lover3732d ago

Vita has 3 SKU's and its selling the way it is.

VITA tv and vita slim are selling so badly they arent even tracking.

GribbleGrunger3732d ago (Edited 3732d ago )

The Vita numbers ARE the Vita 'slim' numbers. The original Vita was fazed out ages ago in Japan. I've seen spinning but this is getting ridiculous. Starting to get a little worried?

fonger083732d ago

You forgot sony and PC fanboys, because we can't make the argument that all fanboys suck? If you could have told 10yr old me that I could own 3 major gaming consoles, a phone that plays games and a gaming PC? I would have been on the all fanboys suck bandwagon a long time ago.

Yep3732d ago

You would miss the days when only the voices in your head existed. Wake up and smell the roses man. Sony isn't the only gaming company out there.

Hicken3732d ago

The Vita only has two SKUs. That's obvious from the list. And as, as I stated, Vita TV is hampered by game compatibility problems.

As for fanboys, I tune out Sony fanboys, and PC fanboys have always been an annoyance.

@Concert: I'm not downplaying the 3DS at all, putting it in perspective: the 3DS is doing well because of that secondary SKU, speaking purely of numbers. I know full well that it's the library that's pushing the 3DS's numbers.

Concertoine3732d ago (Edited 3732d ago )

Okay thanks for clarifying.
To be honest i never see the vita tv doing well in japan, at least. If the portable vita is having trouble in a largely portable-centric market the one chained to the tv will suffer moreso. They should have launched VTV in NA or EU first, at least consoles sell better there.

windblowsagain3732d ago (Edited 3732d ago )

What are you on about.

Nothing is selling good.

3DS LL 26,000
VITA 20,000

RPG_Lover3732d ago

3DS is selling 10k higher, and next week will likely sell 100k next week because of dragon quest.

100k vs probably less than 20k?

its terrible.

sherimae24133732d ago

100k? well lets see, ill quote u for this ok!!!!

and do u even know that the 3ds is down YoY its declining
and the VITA is up YoY

yes the 3ds is selling ahead of all platforms this week but overall performance compared to last year its worrisome

and what would u do if the 3ds doesnt sell 100k next week?
hide on a turtle shell? jke ^_^

Masterman2803732d ago

plus 3DS – 11,420

3DS total- 37,420.

Amigaengine3732d ago

If the Vita is selling miserably then what do we call the WiiU ?

GreenRanger3732d ago

Nintendo fans: Laugh at Vita sales numbers and try not to draw attention to the Wii U sales numbers.

Sony fans: Laugh at Wii U sales numbers and try not to draw attention to Vita sales numbers.

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies49m ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

CrimsonWing6911h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker11h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing6911h ago(Edited 11h ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos17h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto16h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger8816h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

ChasterMies6h ago

Trevor in GTA 6 is a sadist and psychopath who dabbles in cannibalism. Should be top of the list. These game “news” sites should hire people that know games.
