"The official Super Smash Bros. website confirmed last week that Lucario shall be returning for the fight, for better or for worse.
Lucario first appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and essentially replaced Mewtwo in terms of style and aesthetic. I was surprised to see that Lucario was confirmed this time around; I figured they would replace him with an equally stoic/quasi-psychic Pokémon from the latest generation. That being said, Lucario does play a small role in X and Y and is one of the lucky few who can mega evolve. I imagine Mega Lucario will be his final smash transformation.
While I have no strong feelings on Lucario’s confirmation, I’ve begun to have some qualms about how the Super Smash Bros. updates are being handled." - Stephen Hilger
NetherRealm confirms its Mortal Kombat franchise has sold over 80 million copies in the last 30 years, and here's how it competes against other fighters.
Don't care what anyone says, Smash isn't a traditional fighting game. May as well call Powerstone and Playstation All Stars fighting games. They're more of an arena fighter /party game.
Including Smash Bros in a list of fighting games, is like including GTA in Racing games.
The designer of the original Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 shows us the prototype that started it all.
Kim writes: "Super Smash Bros. will not be shown at Evo 2022, this year's biggest fighting game event. The Sony-owned sports organization announced the loss of the platformer in a statement on Twitter today, and seemed to blame the decision on Nintendo, which has historically tried to control how their games appear in the wild."
In away this hurts Nintendo Smash Bros has some dedicated fans. What better way to help build hype and sell more of the game then showcasing it at EVO.
it's pretty obvious why they are teasing it slowly.
A new gameplay trailer every now and again would be nice. It would be better than "Hey look, here's a screenshot of the character we announced last week at a slightly different angle!"
The game probably won't be released until Fall anyway. There are at least 6 months before its release, 180 days to show stuff off.
I miss the days of Melee, when every single secret was actually a secret. You were genuinely surprised by the appearance of Ganondorf, Mr. Game and Watch, and Mewtwo
Outside of a few mechanical and balance issues when has Smash disappointed? You get tons of Nintendo and video game references, wide cast of characters, unique, addicting, and easy to pick up yet difficult to master gameplay. Don't forget the story mode and huge selection of remixed and re-done songs across generations and platforms of video games by their respective composers in Brawl
I guess people would rather see Nintendo handle this game like Zelda HD. I'll take a slow drip over nothing at all in the end the game probaly isn't even coming out until late 2014 anytime Mario Kart is dropping in May.
Slow tease? Not necessarily, sakurai reveals more information pretty frequently than most developers. In fact he's given us more info on this game that square enix has given about xv in the last 7 year s, plus with the game releasing this year like all smash bros games he wants to leave some things a surprise
