Great Games You Might Have Missed – Metro: Last Light

MasonicGamer: The launch of a new generation is a great opportunity to pick up some great games from “last-gen” at some great prices. I’m going to do a feature like this every couple of weeks of a great game that I picked up at, or saw for, a great price. Especially titles that may have slipped under the radar and we haven’t covered before.

Metro: Last Light was on my to-play list for a long time, but with some other big releases it got pushed further, and further back. I picked up the “Limited” Edition for PS3 brand-new for a very pleasing £15 a few weeks back, not bad considering it was only released in May 2013. It’s also set to come to PS+ in the UK soon, and is well worth the price of the shortest subscription, as well as being frequently for sale on Steam.

I'll be downloading this the minute it goes up (thanks Jason), I played it ages ago for a few hours, I loved it, I loved it that much I stopped playing it, took it back and got a refund

Why? I wanted the PS4 version, I thought it was in development http://www.allgamesbeta.com...

Months later I read it wasn't :(

I have both the PC and 360 version and was surprised but how good the 360 version looked considering the gulf in hardware, I think its the best looking 360 game to date

Definitely a favorite of mine. Before this was released, I had only played a little bit of Metro 2033, never finished it, but decided to because I was planning on getting this game.

Finished 2033, preordered Last Light and it was a great decision. Great graphics, awesome storyline, gameplay was fun. Just an overall amazing game.

If you haven't picked this up, you really should.

This game was brilliant to play, I loved every minute of it. If you've not played it you should. You would be a fool not to...

Never got into Exodus, but 2033 was excellent.

Yeah, Exodus just didn't grab me either, sadly.

I absolutely loved 2033 and Last Light, however. Played them both on 360 and then again with the remasters!

I just started it and it is already miles better than the first 2 which are dated.

I got bored of Hogwarts crazy quick and it's bugs, was looking for just any good game got the Metro trilogy for about £8.50 in a Steam sale played through 2033 Redux, Last Light Redux and now am on Exodus. The series is awesome, the first two are like more liner story driven FPS with a few options to confront the levels, stealth, no kill runs and guns blazing, depending on how you play effects the story and its outcome. Third game I'm playing now is heavy story driven (but optional if you don't want to listen you can just walk away... I don't know why you would though) with large open levels that take hours to explore and still some of the best use of RTX I've seen to date, can play this game on ultra with DLSS set to quality, raytracing set to ultra at 4K with no dips, played on Extreme setting and was getting a few drops around water and some interiors.

Cant recommend this series enough and as a new fan I can't wait to see the next game in 2024... I also got the audio books so looking forward to see how well the games follow the original books. A4 Games are extremely talented.
