if "without alot of games" as some will like to believe (but i digress) and its selling out this fast imagine when infamous, drive club and other unannounced games starting coming out out.... get them while they are hot kids

sobekflakmonkey3739d ago (Edited 3739d ago )

yeah, I'm ridiculously stoked for Driveclub, more so than I am Infamous second son; Now I know I may be in the minority on that, but I've been waiting so long for a really good arcade/sim racer that has an awesome soundtrack and looks awesome as well.

On another note, really looking forward to The Order. Not so many games now, but my god...the future is looking mighty bright.

izumo_lee3739d ago

Even though the PS4 doesn't have a lot of games i think that the Playroom twitch phenomenon is one of the reasons the console is selling out.

People have the urge to be recognized & even for a few minutes the Playroom Twitch streaming can do just that. 5 secs of fame that's what some people are looking for.

It'll get more crazy when the quality games do begin to show up.

FamilyGuy3739d ago (Edited 3739d ago )

$400 is a very enticing buy-in price for a new console gaming system. Add to that Sonys track record: their number of exclusives, the quality of the first party games, the hardware, the consistent updates, PS+ being praised left and right (which it deserves).
For anyone that reads gaming news and looks in to it they also know of all the added bonuses like the amount of F2P games to try out, The Playroom and its kid-friendly fun, the game streaming, game clip recording, the new controller and the praise it's been getting.

It just makes sense, Sony hasn't really stumbled with their PS4 launch. DriveClubs delay was they only real set back but even that game is getting a lot of attention because of how stunning it looks given that extra development time.

dedicatedtogamers3739d ago

I am slightly surprised to see it still sold-out even a full month after the holidays. If this momentum continues until the end of February, then we can officially say Sony is on a roll.

fanboybeatdown3739d ago (Edited 3739d ago )

Hey there. all gamers.

PS4 is not sold out.
You can buy a brand new, unopened PS4, with valid warranty. Always available:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/of...

Catch: They cost $500, same as the XBO.

NO need to hurry.
PS4s are always available for sale at that price.
Go figure, huh?

Just trying to help, really.

Playstation

"End Of Commercial Voice"

GrubsterBeater3739d ago

I want to see an updated version of that old PlayStation One commercial, where they say "This might look like a harmless bagel toaster, but inside is a deadly doughnut" hahahaha

GarrusVakarian3739d ago (Edited 3739d ago )

Like i said, they can't make 'em as fast they sell 'em!

Ive never seen this demand before....but it's to be expected when you look at what the PS3 turned into, it went from "PS3 has no games", "glorified blu ray player" to having the most, best looking and best rated exclusives and the best value paid service on consoles.

The combination of the best 1st party devs in the business, the ridiculous value of PS plus, power, price and a 20 year track record of giving gamers exactly what they want are the reasons the PS4 is doing so well.

GTgamer3739d ago

PS4 sells out everytime what a thang what a thang these things literally sell themselves.

3-4-53739d ago

They are lucky to get such a good dedicated install base in before they even have a ton of good games.

Will entice more dev's to make games because there are so many people waiting to play them.

DJMarty3739d ago (Edited 3739d ago )

True, and X1 sits on the shelves getting dusty:)

Then they must be from the future. When they are done populating, they will get organized and begin the reconstruction of the matrix. =8^|

MONOLITHICIDE3739d ago

Whoa!
Hahahaha that made me laugh!

Wizziokid3739d ago

Good news for Sony, glad I got mine early, it's going to be another great year for gamers what ever console they choose.

DanielGearSolid3739d ago

I think they made the right decision releasing in so many Regions

TheEnigma3133739d ago

I reserved mines back in june of last year. I had a feeling once Sony announced the price tag this thing would have a high demand.

What, I thought this was dead after Shawn Layden left Sony. I would definitely pick this up if it's true. I have such great memories of playing the MediEvil games on PS1 and I played the PS4 remake. Such a great and underrated series.

Cacabunga8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

A rumored game at a rumored show.. we’ve seen it all

TiredGamer8h ago

Agreed. The first remake was stylistically beautiful and a very noticeable improvement over the original in every regard. And it was reasonably priced and sustainably developed (i.e. not some mega big budget game that was do or die for the developer).

Zeke6810h ago

Thanks for the spoilers... :(

RonnySins10h ago

Another day, another remake. Ugh!

SonyStyled9h ago

If you played the original print I can see your annoyance. I didn’t and probably a lot others the past 20 years.

Was it any good? Would you suggest playing the original print of 2, or suggest the remake? Just wondering because I didn’t play the originals as I had an n64 at the time

TiredGamer8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

I played the first remake and absolutely loved it. The quality of life and control improvements were very noticeable. I tried playing the PS1 original and gave up halfway through at the janky controls.

Expect the same for part 2. The PS1 version is janky as heck, but I would gobble up an improved remake day one.

The beauty of this kind of stuff is that I find myself enjoying more retro gaming today, so a relatively low budget classic remake (call it a single-A release) is exactly what is missing from first party releases in the modern age. I don’t want every game to be an unsustainable AAAA endeavor that is just overwhelming in every regard. Truly miss when game releases could be modest-sized surprises and still be commercially successful/viable.

Bring on more quality classic remakes!

DarXyde1h ago

I can see your frustration and mostly agree, but modern remakes of games lost eras ago are fine if you ask me.

I don't know how old you are, but I was a kid when the first Medievil came out. It's really for a new generation of gamers more than anything and the industry is at a point now where there is an insane number of current gamers who missed out on those classics.

If we're talking about remakes of The Last of Us or remasters of GTAV, I'm in agreement. Otherwise, the choice to remake games like Final Fantasy VII, Medievil, Parappa, etc. are fair to me. Even PS2 era games being remade would be welcome to me. Often, the tech updates make it worth it.

Knightofelemia10h ago

Such a good series I also wish Sony would dust off Wild Arms and Legend of Dargoon even the Legend series needs to see the light again.

Omegasyde9h ago

My bets on new Socom and/or Wolverine (since Deadpool 3 is dropping in the summer).

I think one after this state of play will be PS5 pro preorder

InUrFoxHole4h ago

SOCOM! SOCOM! SOCOM!
But please not like Socom 4

"Darkest Dungeon II" is coming to Playstation consoles on July 15th, 2024

"The Vancouver-based (Canada) indie games developer Red Hook Studios are today very happy and excited to announce that their roguelike /strategy/RPG “Darkest Dungeon II”, is coming to Playstation consoles (PS5 and PS4) via PSN on July 15th, 2024." - Jonas Ek, TGG.

TwoPicklesGood10h ago

Don't sleep on this, it's a great day

Michiel19895h ago

I personally didn't enjoy 2 as much as I did 1. Actually didn't even finish it.
I do praise that they didn't just carbon copy the 1st game and added more of everything, but I think that during the process a lot of what made Darkest Dungeon appealing to put a ton of hours in, was lost.

The new mode does look cool and I will definitely jump back into it and try it out.
