Never Forget Your First Game

What do you think of when you hear the saying, “You never forget your first”? Do you think of your first kiss? Chances are you and the other person (or persons if you’re into that sort of thing) had no idea what to do and feared that the braces in your mouths would cause permanent damage. Do you think of your first dance? If you do, you likely think of your parents dropping you off at the school cafeteria where you saw nothing but awkwardness and untouched finger food. Do you think of your first vacation? I doubt it; you were probably too busy screaming and crying, which meant other vacationers had to listen to you as your parents attempted to calm you down with your favorite toy.

I started gaming when I was 3 so there is no way I can remember my brain wants to say alex the kidd though :/

My very first games were Beast ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... and Super Mario Bros. Alex Kidd was alot of fun. Sad that SEGA never brought the franchise back but I suppose a lot of platformers from that era sort of died out (Pitfall, Alex Kidd, etc)

I have some memories from when I was 3... though I didn't start playing games until I was 5. Going off-topic now- that makes me question what is the norm for the earliest long term memories?

First game I remember was Space Invaders with my Dad at a bowling alley. We went back to bowling alley to find the game a second time and it had been replaced with Galaxian (WOW! Space Invaders that dive bomb you!!)....

But, the first time I was really blown away by a game was when I saw Donkey Kong at arcade. It was like seeing a cartoon that you could control! I will never forget that feeling.

My first home experience was Pong on a Magnavox Odyssey knockoff from Radio Shack!

I wasted a lot of quarters on space invaders. But my first video game was pong, because there were no other video games to play.

I started when I was three years old and my dad let me choose the game I wanted to play first. I chose Shadow of the Beast 2 (the other one was Eternal Champion). Man I can't wait for the Shadow of the Beast reboot on PS4.

My first console game was Super Mario bros. I played it at my buddy's house when I was 8. Little did I know how quickly it would become an obsession.

the first games I owned and played was monkey hero and brahma force for the PS1 (ah! the golden days). Of course I've played N64 games but those were owned by my siblings.

If I remember correctly, my first computer was an Acorn Electron, where I played awesome games such as Repton, Chuckie Egg and Jet Set Willy. My first console was an Atari 2600 - good ol' Pac-Man, Keystone Capers, Kaboom, River Raid, Frogger, Pitfall, E.T....
