A PC Beta would be cool! I want to try this game out for myself!

Fishy Fingers3740d ago

I'm desperate for a PC beta but I doubt it'll happen. I'm already sold based on friends impressions of the Alpha though.

SITH3740d ago

Nothing more impressive than watching a Titan fall from space.

pandehz3740d ago

A very hot girl falling from space?

Volkama3740d ago

Watching people splat on a pavement isn't awesome. It's kinda grim.

KillrateOmega3740d ago

@pandehz
Maybe some people just get off on seeing humans being turned into pancakes.

...this got dark.

MethCupcakes3740d ago

Of course she'd be hot. She'd burn up upon reentering earths atmosphere.

Volkama3740d ago

Oh no, over-sharpening and white lines... Crytek need to share their secrets.

Personally I find jagged lines and visual artifacts far more distracting than a lower resolution or unlocked framerate.

KingDadXVI3740d ago

I agree but we have to consider that this is an Alpha test and it is only running at 25% of the full games textures.

Hopefully they have gotten some really good data from the Alpha test and spend the next couple months polishing the game.

I will be getting this game first thing. It looks like a blast.

Volkama3740d ago

You're absolutely right, and it is quite likely that AA and post processing are among the last things they will be tweaking.

I'm also planning to get the game for PC myself because I just prefer a keyboard and mouse for any frenetic first person shooting :)

I just hope the over-sharpening trend for One games is a temporary measure and wont be prevalent across the console's library.

"Personally I find jagged lines and visual artifacts far more distracting than a lower resolution "

Not to nitpick but jagged edges are the result of low resolutions......The higher the res, the sharper the image. Hopefully they implement some good AA.

"You're absolutely right, and it is quite likely that AA and post processing are among the last things they will be tweaking."

Most likely.

The jaggies and other graphical problems will be gone (or at least 99% eliminated) by launch (XB1 & PC versions at least) considering how powerful next gen systems and PC's are and the game is running on an ancient engine.

Just look at how Drive Club looks now compared to a few months ago.

But since Titanfall is running on the old Source engine, don't expect it to look like Crysis. It won't win any graphical awards, but like everyone (who's played it) has been saying, it's a gameplay over graphics experience.

"The jaggies and other graphical problems will be gone (or at least 99% eliminated) by launch (XB1 & PC versions at least)"

Bearing in mind im talking about resolution, not how the game looks overall graphically. But if it's final resolution is 720p...then it will be jaggy. 720p is always going to have more aliasing than 900p or 1080p....that's just the way it is. They could implement some decent AA like Ryse has, but a higher native res is the much better way to get rid of jaggies.

" has been saying, it's a gameplay over graphics experience."

Definitely, im not bashing the game here, im just saying that 720p is always going to be "jaggier" than higher resolutions.....in any game. The dude in the article even says himself that this game could really do with being at least 900p because objects at a distance look jaggy and messy.

Like you said, the engine is ancient and the X1 is more than powerful enough, so i see no reason why this game couldn't run at 900p @ 60fps, it would help visibility a lot, especially with larger 1080p native TV's.

Ron_Danger3740d ago

Agreed... I wasn't going after your points, I was just throwing in some of my thoughts.

I want information according to the PC release of Titanfall.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad588d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g587d ago (Edited 587d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad868d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal867d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
