Everytime a dev says that the game ends up being bad or average at best. You can't cater to two different audiences without ticking one of them off and we all know which audience is going to be ticked off the most...

And ACIV to some extent. They encourage you to meet targets without engaging in combat.... isn't that what stealth requires?

I think the stealth in AC4 was none existent at times.

Having to casually walk from bush to bush does not count as stealth lol. AC4 is as much of a stealth game as Call Of Duty (obviously im exaggerating). But i was pretty non-existent.

Plus, the AI in AC4 is way too basic/dumb to give a challenge or make it even slightly enjoyable when taking a "stealthy" approach. They are pretty much programmed to be easily manipulated to walk in a straight line towards the bush you whistled from, or to be engaged in combat where they stare at you and wait their turn for you to one hit kill them. Lol.

Oh yeah, i forgot to add HOW YOU STILL CAN'T CROUCH.

On topic, i look forward to seeing more on Thief, still undecided about it.

Isn't MGS stealth action? This is meant to be much heavier on stealth to the point where full on combat is never a good idea. Other games like AC and MGS let you get away with being seen quite easily so I can see where he's coming from.

Its hardly action usually combat is difficult though MGS4 was pretty easy due to improved shooting mechanics so MGS GZ will most likely be similar unless you play hard difficulty. The game is no cover shooter or run and gun game.

We used to use the cheat code for the devs debug menu in Tenchu 1 and add an extra player.

Thief is the one and only stealth game I know of in which if you are noticed, you're most likely dead.

MGS has lots of guns and combat maneuvers you can utilize if noticed.

Tenchu was basically a ninja simulator, so killing was to be expected.

Thief is stealth gameplay in it's purest form.

No. MGS is not a true stealth game.
Theif is stealth only as the only weapons arent weapons but more tools. Similar to the original Splinter Cell.
The objectives cannot be completed without being mainly in stealth mode. If you dont have patience then this game isnt for you.
Watch some youtube footage from Thief III deadly shadows on pc or Xbox. It's top 5 fav game of all time IMO.

You can finish the game in MGS without killing one person or alarm anyone. If that's not stealth i don't know what is. It simply offer other awesome ways when you get bored of stealth or suck at it or you can combine them(The way i do it but mostly stealth).

I will buy Thief day one but it's not in the level of MGSV graphically and in story wise. As for gameplay both have their own good features..

I've rolled the dice on this one and pre-ordered and pre-paid for the game.

I've been a very long time fan of this franchise and seen it pass through several hands.

The E3 demo had real promise, but clearly needed a little polish.

But in this area of big action FPS games, racing and sports, a stealth game of this calibre is a nice deviation.

I'm willing to give this one a shot.
