GTAv was so so good, from what I hear and have seen as I have not played the game is that COD did not really change anything and was just more of the same.

Either way I think we all knew GtAV would sell more.

hazelamy3747d ago

i know it's still a sequel, but at least it's a sequel they took the time to create, making improvements to the game in just about every area.

unlike the identikit approach these yearly games take.

so good for rockstar.
thoroughly deserved the sales for making one of, if not the best games of the year.
no, make that the generation.

Chrisgamerguy3747d ago

Doesn't matter cod still sells more because it has a game come out every year unlike gta whoch only has a new game like every 5 years or so.

Zichu3747d ago

I can understand where he is coming from. GTA V is the better game, it did outsell CoD last year, but CoD pulls great numbers every year. Ghosts didn't sell the same amount as Black Ops 2, but it's nearly at 20 million.

I bet it will be the same this year, it will probably outsell Ghosts due to there not being a GTA game.

If on average CoD sold 20 million each year for 5 years, it sold 100 million copies, compared to the 30 million copies or so that GTA V sold.

Irishguy953747d ago

Yeah, unfortunately you're correct.

Activision ahve 2 year dev times
Rockstar have 4-6 years for their big hitters

Activision make a much bigger profit.

Even so it's nice to know that Rockstar get the sales they deserve for their effort. Cod will fall soon. I really hope Titanfall drags it down and by the time Titanfall 2 is out, COD will be abolished by the efforts of Respawn and other devs.

The gta franchise total has made more money, selling a total of over 160 million copies, while cod franchise is around 120 million.

this is pretty obviouse this game made billion in a week and everyone i know is tired of cod it sucks to even to my friends who really loved cod

Agent_hitman3747d ago

That's not surprising cause COD:Ghost sucks!. I really enjoyed GTA:V more than any other games on the console for this year

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6923h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos21h ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy8520h ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius10h ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
