Ukie Week 2 2014 UK Video Games Charts

There’s not much to report for week 2, 2014 apart from the rise or re-entry of various titles due to retailer promotions. EA remain at No1 with a 7th week for ‘FIFA 14’ (-32%) - the last 4 weeks consecutively. Activision Blizzard remain at No2 with ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ (-41%) and 4 consecutive weeks behind ‘FIFA 14’. EA’s ‘Battlefield 4’ is No3 (-48%), swapping places with Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’ at No4 (-52%).

it's probably because the supermarkets are selling it for a fiver, well, Tesco and Asda are.
it's the same limited edition version too.

maybe Sega offloaded a container full of copies cheap.
trying to recoup some of the money gearbox stole, i mean the money they paid gearbox to make the game. >_>

OliverKO3754d ago

That's exactly right - the game has been on promotion for quite a few weeks now with the price dropping to £5 and below, so it's probably worth it as a curiosity and piece of gaming history.

GAME were selling it for £3 the GAME exclusive edition too, I actually picked a copy up for a laugh XD

CocoWolfie3754d ago

God I will never touch this game again. I struggled through all 3 hours of that game with my brother. That game was a true horror not in a good way. T-T

Good to see Forza Motorsport 5 up there but suppressed its higher than GT6 but good to see racing games in the top 20. Bored of the top 20 yoy seeing Fifa, COD, BF, AC, NFS ect each year need some new IP's.

snookiegamer3754d ago

In spite of the articles title, you mentioned Alien CM like zero times. Forza 5 has nothing to do with a mediocre FPS.

Stay on topic :)

"UK Software Chart: Aliens: Colonial Marines shifts into the Top Ten during week of January 11th"

So is this not about the UK software sold? If you click on the link you will see the top 20 games and you will also see Forza and GT in there.

I know sweetie, just messin wiv ya :)

Well, I don't believe my sale actually factors in, but I did grab a Steam code for Colonial Marines off Amazon from back when they were offering them for two bucks.
Honestly, the game, I feel, is better than what many make it out to be . . . but it's not very good. It's a serviceable B-rate shooter that's oozes missed opportunity.
That's about it.

I thought the UK's standards were higher than that!

Just kidding, my friends across the pond!!

We love sh!t games here in the UK, but we like low priced sh!t games even more.

Roundtable: Games That Should Have Received a Sequel

Too many games aren't given a second shot. We at VGU choose which games we would love to see receive a sequel.

The Saboteur - criminally underrated and a fantastic mechanic of bringing colour back to Nazi-occupied Paris.

The article lists Bulletstorm, Sleeping Dogs, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Can't argue with any of those really, but I would add Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Metal Gear Survive to that list. Both terrible games from good franchises.

Bulletstorm, I actually liked the gameplay but the atrocious writing and characters made me despise the game by the end of it.

I still play AvP on PS3 to this day. That game had fun multiplayer too.
