He used to work at Kojima Productions. He was one of the producers on MGS4 I believe. He quit after that. Aaaand that's pretty much the first I heard of him since then.

Edit: He also handled the translation for MGS4 as well as the westernized controls (R1 to shoot instead of Square and all that)

Most recently he was the creative director on Halo 4

It's quite frankly the only phone game from 2013 I would say is worth playing. I wouldn't fit it in my top 10, but it's great nonetheless.

I'll have to check this out. I've been buying final fantasy games for my phone

I guess FF games are good to, but I can't stand virtual joysticks (I guess there's no way around it?). I've been having some fun with XCOM too, but it just drains my battery to quickly, which basically renders it non-mobile. The walking dead is out, tactile might work well for it. But as far as games developed with mobility and tactile in mind, ridiculous fishing would be my pick for 2013.

Ahh I got you, as far as finally fantasy goes it's the nintendo versions which the controller isn't too complex and all the attacks are touched base. Unlike Final Fight which is frustrating as all be damn. I'm going to check it out though. thanks

Loved the Kojima Report back in 2008 anticipating MGS4. Listened to it at work a lot.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown - A Welcome Rebirth

XCOM: Enemy Unknown rebooted the series back in 2012, and has since inspired numerous new strategy game series to be born.

If someone gets into this I'd recommend getting the enemy within version. It's got all the dlc included so it's the better version. Wish the author would've atleast mentioned it. I didn't see it.

Fantastic game though. Xcom 2 is top notch also. I've spent countless hours in these games.

Excellent game.
Played to death on PS3 years ago.

What other games were inspired by this game?

JL2930177d ago

Gears Of War Tactics, Phoenix Point. Many others.

shinoff2183176d ago

Phoenix point if I remember was created by the original xcom developer or something to that affect. I did try gears tactics some months ago and I just couldn't get into it. It's probably just me

It was, but it was really closer to the newer XCOM than the older ones. Gears Tactics was okay but was hard to get into knowing there probably wont be a sequel.

Ten Best Tactical Mobile Games

There are few things more gratifying in gaming than skillfully turning the tide of a conflict. And few genres provide as many opportunities to abruptly reverse the odds via skill and forethought as tactical strategy. To be sure, we are more often than not talking about turn-based tactical mobile games, specifically titles in line with the iconic landmark series (XCOM and Jagged Alliance) that made the genre a genre.
