2013 has been a big year for video games, with a lot of major releases and a bunch of 3DS games and generation 8 finally starting, but was 2013 a good year?

We got ni no kuni, TLOU(GOTY), GTA V and Ps4. Yea it was a fantastic year especially for playstation gamers

piroh3770d ago

you forgot Gran Turismo 6

TomShoe3770d ago

It was a good year, in that it feels like gaming has finally become mainstream. It's not just for 15-40 y/o hobbyist guys anymore, everyone and their mother can game now. This will result in even a greater variety of games for both the PS4 and the X1.

Only downside to this is that it makes it hard to find a next-gen console :P

I think 2013 was a terrible year. Shattering older franchises with mediocre games, politically correct controversies, the usual DLC schemes and such.

2013 had it all, but 2014 seems to be much better. Time will tell if companies learned anything.

With The Last of Us, yes 2013 was best year for videogames !

Tontus3769d ago

Nope, 2010 was the best year imo.

God of War III, Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Alan Wake, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5, Halo Reach, Bioshock 2, Bayonetta...

2013 was great though with The Last of Us, GTA V, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite but sadly God of War: Ascension, Gears of War: Judgment, Beyond Two Souls & Gran Turismo 6 were all disappointing.

Looking forward to 2014!

Dlc and microtransactions going rampant ruined it for me...

2013 was a good year for PC.

I couldn't agree more.
Since generally moving away from consoles and back to pc, I've discovered the joys of discounted games.
Loads and loads of discounted games. Game bundles. Some really quality AAA stuff going super cheap and amazing indie stuff that makes all efforts on PS and XB look utterly lame.

XB1 and PS4 will have to do soooooo much more to tempt me back to consoles.

JBSleek3770d ago

I completely agree. The prices for games on XBL and PSN are atrocious.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing691d 23h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy851d 20h ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius1d 10h ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
