Shadow of the Colossus was the first game that came to mind. So good, too.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah everyone! Even to those to who don't celebrate anything, have a great December and January! ^_^

Video games have used the many various and contradicting religions of the world as inspiration for a long time and that's fine.

However, trying to find enlightenment, forcing an agenda into or reading something that isn't there is not wise. Video games, like movies, demand a certain level of suspension of disbelief. It's this blurring of the lines of reality that can draw people in and to most that isn't a problem. It only takes a few to start drawing things like their morality from these works of fantasy and it can lead to some terrible things.

What I'm saying is that it's important to see video games for what they are, a harmless form of entertainment, free from the corruptive nature of the fantasies from which they were inspired.

Merry Christmas/Holidays everyone, or whatever you're celebrating... or not, whatever... we're free.

Video games aren't always created with no agenda in mind. One would have to be naive to think that.

The vast majority of games are created for sheer enjoyment, but there are some that were created to further someone's personal or political agenda.

Maybe there are, I couldn't name them could you? Either way that's not the original intent of video games was my point. Although you could argue that to become art you have to allow the creator to express even harmful agenda and opinion through their medium. I guess that's a different matter though.

My first thought was TLoZ, which made the cut, Assassin's Creed (which is a pretty damn good caricature of especially Catholicism, but also Islamism and other religions and criticizes them pretty well and reinterprets a lot of it (like the creation story) which is pretty awesome and pretty cool for me as an Atheist). Also Dead Space came into my mind. So did GTA (got to love what the did with Scientology in GTA V) and BioShock.

Happy Holidays lads and lasses.

I thought GTA's spin on Scientology was hilarious. Kifflom brother-brother- Kifflom.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Infinite Wealth and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will probably me more than enough.

Try not to burn yourself out before the game releases. This is going to be a long and immersive RPG like the first one.

The games in this article are all great and I believe the people who are excited for Dragons Dogma 2 probably already played most of those games.

For now, I recommend you prepare yourself for long play sessions if you will be picking up Dragons Dogma at launch.
