5 Previous-Gen Multiplayer Games That Should Be Remade For Next-Gen

MP1st writes:"Clearly, things will get better, but right now, neither indie nor AAA developers can simply poop out new IPs or high-effort sequels on a whim for the sake of satisfying our next-gen gaming needs. So what do we do, other than settle for the yearly offering of Call of Duty and Battlefield?"

I disagree with this article 90%. Why would I want to play a game that is less than 3 years old I have already played and is pretty fresh in my memory? Just because it looks better???? I would rather have some PS2, Gamecube games get a makeover than a FPS game that I just played in the past year or two.

With that said, Crysis 3, would be GREAT! Grand Theft Auto Online, Meh, maybe.

Disappointed by lack of Warhawk.

frostypants3766d ago

Yeah, Warhawk brought the large-scale battlefield experience to consoles before Battlefield did. Such an underrated game. It still has some of the best sound design of that gen.

I'd love Last of Us and Halo 4 to be ported over to next-gen, I still play both to this day.

jackanderson19853766d ago

maybe in like 5 years or something... but now would be a slap in the face to the people who bought it recently especially with TLOU

sobekflakmonkey3766d ago

that's true, I feel like TLOU should be released on PS4 though, I would love to see what it looks like on PS4 in full 1080p and higher res textures as well as a higher poly count...it'd be amazing, I'd play it again.

vickers5003765d ago

Battlefield 3 premium edition on ps4. Bf4 is good (when it works anyways), but even without glitches, BF3 is still much better, and would benefit really well being ported to the ps4.

boldscot3765d ago

You still play them to this day?
The Last of Us is about 6 months old and Halo 4 is just over a year old and you say "I still play both to this day". That's a term you use for a game that's 5 years old or 10 years old, not 6 months old.

Gabenbrah3765d ago

Umm no because they are recent games I still play them... -_- I still play TLOU and Halo 4 online because next-gen consoles don't have any good online MP games.

Roccetarius3766d ago

Meh, those games have no chance, if it was against the likes of Unreal Tournament or Quake.

Hopefully Cliffy B delivers with Silverstreak.

classic193766d ago

have you played the last of us?. that was the best mp i played this year.

Roccetarius3766d ago

I'm not really a fan of slower paced MP games anymore. I'd much rather play something faster, such as those i mentioned.

frostypants3766d ago (Edited 3766d ago )

Yeah, the MP in TLoU took me completely by surprise. It is so effing hard...especially with teammates who try to go lone wolf and get everyone killed...but so much fun.

RedDevils3766d ago

Fast pace, you mean like those brainless shooting game aka COD?

HammadTheBeast3766d ago

No, not all fast-paced games are brainless. Quake, UT, Warhawk, MAG, older Halo's. All those games are fast, but take skill.

SilentNegotiator3766d ago

Some of us prefer MP games that take strategy and thought, not just twitching.

Roccetarius3766d ago

Well, to be fair, Twitch games require you to be aware and skillful.

theshredded3766d ago

the list is HORRENDOUS!besides The Last of Us and Skyrim

i8urCAKE3766d ago

So.. make HD versions of HD games ? STOP THE MONEY MILKING

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.
