I thought pc had no games or exclusives of any good funny how i always see you ps4 fanboys in pc articles asking for exclusive pc games to go to ps4.

Pillsbury13775d ago (Edited 3775d ago )

This is pretty much the only game on pc I would like to see come to ps4.

Just bought an asus t100 with bay trail, it's only powerful enough for small indie games.

overrated443775d ago

You don't even want Titanfall?

SynGamer3776d ago

This is early access, not final...shouldn't this be a preview?

SilentNegotiator3776d ago

If they're charging money for it, there's no reason people can't review it.

Megaton3776d ago

Pretty pointless to review something in alpha form. Your review isn't going to be worth a shit when the final game goes live and all of the flaws have long since been fixed and various other updates have gone live.

SilentNegotiator3776d ago (Edited 3776d ago )

"Your review isn't going to be worth a s**t when the final game goes live"

So what? It's fine for now; it's a review of it's current form, properly dated and everything. It even mentions that the game is still in Alpha.

Are you worried about the game's metascore or something? Because they aren't taking scores yet anyway.

mattdillahunty3776d ago

but again, the point still stands that people are being charged money in order to play it. if the developers want to slap a price on it, then people have every right to slap a review on it in return so prospective buyers can know what they're getting into.

Megaton3776d ago

I'm not worried about this game's review scores in the slightest. I'm not even interested in playing it. Just seems like a waste of time to review an alpha, regardless of it having a price tag. I never said he wasn't "allowed" to review it. I said it was pointless.

SilentNegotiator3776d ago

But it's not "pointless". It's a review of its current condition and gives people an idea of whether or not to spent money on it yet.

Once upon a time, gamers didn't pay to participate in alphas/betas; it was a service to the DEVELOPER to see bugs and balance issues fixed. If it was like that, it would be pointless, but it's not.

Megaton3776d ago

It's not like you're only buying the alpha or a beta. You're buying the full game, starting at the alpha phase.

SilentNegotiator3776d ago (Edited 3776d ago )

Aware. Still doesn't make a review of the current condition "pointless"

Megaton3776d ago

If you're aware then why do you keep trying to make a point about how the world sucks because people charge money for betas? That's not relevant to early access, since you're paying for the full game.

3-4-53776d ago

??

That would be like me paying an upfront payment to build a home, but then writing a review of my home when it's only 70% complete.

Not intelligent.

SilentNegotiator3776d ago (Edited 3776d ago )

Calm down. No need for all of the attempts to re-frame my arguments with hyperbole by "quoting" the word "allowed", claiming that I suggested that the "world sucks", etc.

Some gamers won't want to pay for the alpha if it isn't in such a condition. Thus a review of it might be "pointless" to you, but not everyone.

@3-4-5
Except if your analogy were accurate, you'd be living in the home while it was still in construction and have had already paid the full price of the home.

cyril sneer3775d ago (Edited 3775d ago )

@silent negotiator
Lol you dont review a game in alpha state.

PurpHerbison3775d ago

Reality is, the final release of DayZ standalone won't be too much different that what the alpha has to offer now.

It's inevitable that a review will be made even if it is an alpha version but it could do without the score.

If it just an overview of what potential buyers might encounter then it's fine. They should have enough information before diving into an alpha.

Having a review score on the other hand would make it confusing and unfair. Just look at the Steam Machine Beta reviews and we already have people in the comments judging its fate based on those.

Make it a guide or preview but don't call it a review and slap a score on it.

SynGamer3776d ago

I completely agree. This doesn't affect me in any way, but I hate seeing sites trying to get traffic this way, especially with bogus reviews.

As mentioned previously, this should have been a scoreless preview. Knowing that this is an "early access" game, there's really no way to review something that is in beta and will continue to evolve until it's full release.

Yes, people are paying money for it, but it comes with full disclosure that it's an early release state and not the final build. That alone should indicate a review score isn't necessary.

Megaton3776d ago

Why are you reviewing an early-access alpha?

MadLad3776d ago (Edited 3776d ago )

While I agree with the point you made above, this review will be pointless as of time of release, it is perfectly acceptable to review something in alpha if people are paying for said alpha.
The review helps people understand just what they are getting at this time, whether or not that will be true of the game down the road.
That said, it really should be treated more as a preview and probably not have a definitive number placed on it at this time.

Maxor3775d ago

Is the early access alpha free? No? So a review is perfectly valid. People should know what they're getting for their money.

Codewow3776d ago

As sad as it may seem. I'd give the game a 9/10 alone right now as it stands just because it plays 300% better on my computer than the mod did. Plus there's absolutely no hacking right now! Had some pretty intense moments with other players trying to kill me as well as my own adventures around the map.

Dazel3775d ago

This game beats most others even in Alpha, imagine what's it will be like in 6mths time. First patch already ready for test server release.
