You have to understand the Power of Cell Architecture, which makes porting to PS4 very challenging.

jukins3782d ago

I dont know about that. there has been qoutes from quite a few devs ,although mostly with smaller games (trine awesomenauts etc), that porting over to the ps4 really doesnt take that much time.

Indo3782d ago

Should of just finished it on the PS3, say bout 2 yer's ago.

HelpfulGamer3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

NamcoBandai's JRPG "Tales of Xillia 2" dated to launch in 2014 on PS3, no PS4 version.

Persona 3 announce for PS3, no PS4 version to date.

Most future JRPG specifically design for PS3 to date, have no PS4 version.

There's is still no easy way to port Games specifically design for PS3 Cell Architecture onto the PS4.

Porting game specifically design for PS3 Cell Architecture onto the PS4 is hard but not impossible. For example Tomb Raider 2013, thanks to AMD Engineers & Programmers, SquareEnix was able to not just port but also enhance PS4 version of Tomb Raider 2013.

Hopefully thanks to such effort, porting, playing PS3 games on PS4 will not just be easy, but also enhanced with smoother gameplay and better graphics.

Most cross gen releases are ported from PC to next gen, not PS3 code. This game have no PC version, so obviously most of the code is made to run on PS3 (probably their PC is bare bones for programming), hence taking The Last Guardian to PS4 will not be that easy.

Not that I'm saying it ok, reasonably, this game should had been released on PS3 1 or 2 years ago.

I rather them get it right. We waited for almost 5 years, why not wait a little longer.

frostypants3781d ago

By this point the developers have probably lost all sense of objectivity. After a certain point, time can actually make things worse.

joab7773782d ago

We have seen nothing. This would have been a huge launch game. So would have GoW: Ascension...hold Killzone til february...then Infamous. And a GT6 on both. Had they done that and planned for it 2 yrs ago...it would have been a monster launch!

Like I said...I am a little worried cuz we just havnt seen anything. Dont get me wrong, this could b huge. Why not release on ps3 and then spend x amount of time porting it?

SpiralTear3782d ago

"...his comments could be attributed to The Long Guardian as he was not allowed to comment on the game specifically."

That's either a typo or a bad joke.

MooseyXTC3781d ago

What a misleading article name, he immediately after says that he continues to find inspiration to renew his faith in his project.

cyphertech3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

From Article: Mr. Ueda explained, “on a long production, it is inevitable that your ambition will disperse from time to time. In those cases, I look at a great work – like a film, a game, that sort of thing – to remind me of the wonders of art, and that restores my momentum.” He cited Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us and Quantic Dreams’ Beyond: Two Souls as his most recent inspirations.

But I guess that line the article quoted was more relevant or somethng

McScroggz3781d ago

It seems like Ueda-san, for whatever reason, lost inspiration for this title years ago. Sure, he's contractually obligated to finish the game; but I don't think his heart is in it.

frostypants3781d ago

It doesn't bode well for the game. Gaming history is littered with these games that took ages to come out, only to be massive disappointments...

Duke Nukem Forever
Daikatana
Battlecruiser 3000AD

They either need to go all in on doing this game right, or just mercy kill the project now.

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88135d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183134d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie134d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.

The Last Guardian Is One of Gaming’s Most Beautiful Depictions of Friendship

Friendship is hard to depict accurately, but The Last Guardian does a good job of showing all its ups and downs through Trico and the boy.

Technical issues aside, this is easily one of my favorite games from last gen.

ClayRules2012819d ago (Edited 819d ago )

I couldn’t agree more. I’ll never forget the emotional experience I had with this game. After waiting all those years, and than to finally play it. It was a visual beauty, along with offering a story/friendship between the 2 characters that was unique and unforgettable. Far surpassed my expectations. A masterpiece!

Technical issues aside, never have I played anything quite like it!

Magog819d ago

I enjoyed the game but it started out too simple and easy. If the entire game was as intense and challenging as the last 20% it would have been a 10/10 experience.

EvertonFC819d ago

Great game, so underrated. One of my favourites and top 20 games of all time

Phoenix76819d ago

I managed to grab the collectors edition for £40 about a year after it released. Was an enjoyable game, but I had just finished Shadow of the colossus, and whilst I enjoyed it, it was not as good when compared.
