Platinum Games creative director is fed up with Bayonetta 2 port begging.

Platinum Games creative director JP Kellams has revealed on Twitter that he is fed up with Microsoft and Sony gamers requesting that Bayonetta 2 be ported to the Xbox and the PlayStation.

Snookies123782d ago

What's wrong with that? It should be a compliment. They like your game.

iamnsuperman3782d ago

True, though it might get annoying when the answer is clearly Nintendo is funding the game (publishing it and all)

mikeslemonade3781d ago

The gamers will come together and win.. Boycott Bayonetta 2 so when they make Bayonetta 3 they will package B2 with B3 for X1 and PS4.

NatureOfLogic3781d ago

It sucks being fan of a game series in today's games industry. Even when I get my WiiU I'm skipping this game.

Spurg3781d ago

@mikeslemonade
If that's how you win count me out. Gamers are the worst...boycot a game so it release on your preferred console...you must be tripping.

andrewer3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

@mikeslemonade Boycott? That makes no sense at all, as they won't even be able to buy it. Boycott Bayonetta 2 would be like Wii U gamers boycotting it...If you are a Xbox One gamer only for example it's not like you can boycott Killzone or something, that makes no sense.

mikeslemonade3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Well if you want B3 to made for the WiiU then go buy B2 for the WiiU. B3 with current gen technology would be better than B3 with last gen technology. So if you stunt the potential of last-gen's best hack-slash game, then keep buying it on the WiiU.

From early reports Nintendo won't make enough money from this and then Platinum games will go 3rd party multiplat again for their next game. I'm guessimg B2 is gonna only sell 80k for the first week and then won't reach 500,000 units in its lifetime. Considering that would be a 1:10 attach ratio for the Wii U right now.

TruthBTold3781d ago

Here is the thing. With low WiiU sales, B2 will sell like sh!t on it. So let it fail, XBox One and PS4 owners will make other games succeed in sales.

darthv723781d ago

The easy answer to say to those who are begging is....get a wii-u. Problem solved.

its not that hard to see there will be games you just cant play any other way than by buying the platform its for. Put away the petty differences of platform loyalty and stick to what we are really loyal to. the games themselves.

mydyingparadiselost3781d ago

@lemonade
That is literally the dumbest thing I've read today. Bayo 2 WOULD NOT EXIST if Nintendo hadn't put up the money for it. No one wanted to fund a sequel so what makes you think boycotting Bayo 2 would get a ps4/Xone version or a Bayo 3 on ANYTHING? smh....

mikeslemonade3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Platinum's Inaba is a money hat. Money talks..

Bayonetta 2 will sell like crap. Even hardcore Nintendo fans won't buy it because it's not a "Nintendo game". It fits perfectly in the PlayStation universe with the X1 zealots also double dipping on it.

You know what else Nintendo will do.. they will ruin the game. Bayonetta 1 was the best hack/slash game last generation and Nintendo will put some restrictive crap on it and then make it crap.

stragomccloud3781d ago

If Bayonetta 2 is boycotted, then there will be no Bayonetta 3.

PeaSFor3781d ago

then may he accept the future flop like MadWorld was, he probably will be happy to see his game being ignored i guess?

k2d3781d ago

@iamsuperman: There's a sweet irony there for the developer. Wonder if he's annoyed that all his fans are on ps and xbox?

SilentNegotiator3781d ago

Platinum Games employees are still pricks that can't just ignore a couple of posts on Twitter and some gamers are still ignorant to the fact that Nintendo is funding the game.

What's the news here?

Gaming1013781d ago

You don't need to boycott Bayonetta 2, it isn't first party Nintendo, and it's on Nintedo's console, so its sales will not be stellar. They will be forced to port to next gen to make up for losses.

Sevir3781d ago

Boycotting this game isn't a bad idea, after all Nintendo doesn't own the IP, Sega does, so it's feasible and sane, but if they do I don't think anyone will benefit, Sega wasn't even going to do a second game in the franchise since the first one didn't perform as well as they wanted.

I doubt it'll get a sequel if we boycotted it... Best to support the game in it's current state and hope they bring the franchise on the PS4 and Xbox One later.

Obviously it's clear that fans want it, it would be nuts to not answer the call of fans who got into the franchise WELL AFTER the game launched.

Cha0tik3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

@mikeslemonade Just tried talking to this guy... It's pointless. For someone that helped make such an amazing game the "gamers voice" aspect doesn't exist to this guy. Don't bother tweeting him either. He is the one losing money for nobody else buying the game on other consoles. I'll be happy just playing the first one. They lost my money.

To everyone else: Boycott it! They obviously don't want your money. One voice speaks for the entire team and when idiots like this decide to voice out how they feel about people requesting a port. Normally companies would be happy people like their game but obviously this isn't the case for them. Who cares if there is no B3? Not many will be able to play B2 because we won't buy a Wii U for one game.

_QQ_3781d ago

@ mikeslemonade by the time Bayo 3 comes out a gamer would probably have a wiiu by then.

DOMination-3781d ago

Bayonetta was rubbish and nobody bought it. That's why they never did a sequel until somebody paid for it. I don't know why anybody outside of cosplayers would be interested and if you are you should be diehard enough to just go get a wiiu.

tehpees33781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

@ Gaming101

Clearly you have no idea how game design works. Platinum got their money from Nintendo. All money earned goes to Nintendo.

Nobody is paying for a PS4 and XBO port because Nintendo won't put it on a rival platform and Sega can't afford it. Konami clearly didn't want Bayonetta 2 or they would have published it along with Rising. If MS and Sony wanted it they would have done what Nintendo is doing.

Take it out on those guys. They aren't paying for this fantasy of your's to come true. Platinum couldn't care less as they have their money.

DragonKnight3781d ago

I don't know why you are all arguing about this. This game is on the Wii U. Platinum Games are going to find out the hard way where the money is at this gen, and it's not on the Wii U. Bayonetta 2 is going to sell less than the first game and Platinum Games won't make a Bayonetta 3. That's all that's going to happen.

Why should anyone support them anyway? They're lazy devs. They didn't make a proper Playstation 3 port of the first game and instead handed it off to Sega, who ruined it. Rising is a mediocre game, and Bayonetta is exclusive to probably the worst console for its genre to be exclusive to.

Clearly these people have no idea what they're doing, and it will be on them when they lose so much money. You don't have to boycott the game if you don't have and don't plan on getting a Wii U anyway.

kreate3781d ago

if the game doesn't sell well on the wii-u.
than I guess he only has himself to blame since he is so 'fed-up' with gamers asking otherwise.

ZodTheRipper3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

I know a lot of people disagree with me but Bayonetta was on my Top5 Most Hated games last gen so I couldn't care less :D
I own a WiiU but I will never buy that POS

UltimateMaster3781d ago

The Wii U really needs this game as an exclusive for it's success.
If it were to loose it...

webeblazing3781d ago

more hating on a console they do not own. how surprising. if you want the game buy wiiU. more exclusives is coming out and all yall say is that its gonna eventually come to next gen and i dont care its crap anyway.

yall tout exclusives so much but have a problem when sony dont have excess to a game. give credit when credits do.

Is Nintendo funding Bayonetta 2?

Thanks got the answer.

iamnsuperman3782d ago (Edited 3782d ago )

They are the publishers so they have to be other wise Nintendo have managed to swindle a very good deal. The money doesn't have to be for the game development (but with Platinum Games not being small I doubt that) but for things like advertisement

Skip_Bayless3781d ago

Bayonetta Sigma 2 for X1 and PS4

-Foxtrot3782d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Didn't Microsoft fund Bioware though for Mass Effect

...just think.....in this industry stranger things have happened.

EDIT:

Couldn't a third party publisher or Sony/MS buy the rights from Nintendo then....it would take years to see it on other platforms but it's not "impossible"....righ t?

NYC_Gamer3781d ago

EA bought the Mass Effect 1 console rights from MS and then they created a ps3 version

EcoSos33781d ago

No its not impossible but theyll have to ask both Nintendo and Sega so if either one of them say no you wont see it on another console.

KonsoruMasuta3781d ago

The rights for Mass Effect were bought by another company.

Unless the same happens here, which I doubt because Bayonetta is not a game that sells, it's not happening.

Mr_Writer853781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Nintendo maybe publishing the game but they don't own diddly squat.

They 0 say it what happens to the IP.

They maybe able to stop a vanilla version appearing on any other console but unless they have a contract saying that there can be no other versions (unlikley as they have no claim on the IP) there is very little standing in the way of a 1.5 version appearing.

However I don't think PG will do anyway as not enough people bought the first. But when you put a decent version on one console which fan base is known to favour FPS. And release an awful version on the console who's fan base are known to favour action games like this.

Then why would those who would like this game buy it if it's so poorly made its unplayable.

tiffac0083781d ago

^ Publishing rights can still be a huge barrier on getting the game on another system and I doubt Ninty would even entertain any publishing buy outs.

Maybe he feels its a slight to the Wii U? He could just tell those fans to buy one.

Sarcasm3781d ago

Exactly.

Gamers should just give him a big middle finger.

Now he's going to get rewarded with millions and millions of sales on the Wii U. /rant

Visiblemarc3781d ago

Honestly, the game is going to sell next to no copies, so perhaps he's feeling grumpy about that.

In a world where Super Mario 3d world is having such low sales, I'd personally be flattered and happy that so many people want to play my game, especially when stuck on such a hard-selling platform.

avengers19783781d ago

And when the game sells like crap... They will want to port it to other systems and won't be able to.
Forgive me if I don't think this game is going to move systems, hell by the time it comes out the WiiU will be out sold by bothe PS4 and XB1(provided they can produce enough consoles)

kneon3781d ago

I thought they had already both outsold the Wii U didn't they?

Neonridr3781d ago

@kneon - sales for the PS4 are just over 2 million, Xbox One are around 2 million.

Wii U is closer to 4.5-5 million at this point.

kneon3781d ago

I guess the article I read must have meant that the ps4 outsold the Wii U for this year rather than lifetime sales.

buynit3781d ago

You know how excessive a certain bunch of gamers can be, platinum games know its not getting ported and are clearly tired of the question. So act like grown ups and drop it already.

Hank_Schrader3781d ago

I find it amazing nintendo got a 3rd party exclusive.

CaptainN3781d ago

Dragon Quest 10,Monster Hunter,Zombi U and Sonic all say hello!!

Godmars2903781d ago

They may like it, but they didn't *BUY* the first one. Which is why Nintendo paid to make it when Sega didn't want to.

frostypants3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Yeah, this guy is just self-fellating. "Oh, ALL these people just BEGGING me to give them my game...stop!!!" What an egotistical prat. Reminds me of Mango on SNL...

"Can you catch a falling star without burning your hand? Can you put the sky in your mouth? Can you say to an earthquake..'hey hold still for a second'? No! Such is Mango!"

Apparently, such is Mr. Kellams with his also-ran video game. Douche. Sorry guy, most of us didn't know who you were before today or that you were making a sequel to a semi-obscure, semi-successful God of War knock-off.

Then he gets sand up in his VJ about negative comments, when his own Tweet was so negative and childish...

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

smh.. They better hope wiiU sells more.

If this game can't survive on ps3 and 360 imagine wiiU. lol

aquamala3781d ago

The only people that can "boycott" this game are wii u owners, so buy a wii u?

Corpser3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

So salty here

People here feel so differently when it's Sony that paid off a developer to make a game exclusive

http://n4g.com/news/1409902...

hollabox3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

More people should have purchased Bayonetta 1 when it came out for the X360 and PS3. It didn't sell until it hit bargain bin.

ninjahunter3780d ago

Imagine you drew a nice picture, a very nice picture indeed, then someone wanted you to paint it, someone wanted it in charcoal, a blind man wanted it in braille. Gee, sure is flattering that all these people continuously demand something you don't want to, or cant do.

Why should I be grateful that they're making a game I want for a console I'll never own?

why would a ps/xb gamer be grateful they won't be able to play B2?

3781d ago
_QQ_3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

because if Bayo2 does well you may very well see bayo 3 on multiple systems. And it means now you have the chance to play it if you really want to vs the game not even existing,

@first1nfantry,
i don't tnink you thought your comment through before posting.

TwilightBites3781d ago

You're the same kind of dude that will talk shit to a nintendo fan who gets mad because games don"t launch on the wiiu. Too bad you'll miss out on this game and several dozen onther triple A titles because you're so against the wii u. Have fun with Bias: the Game.

HurstDarkStar3781d ago

Buy this same logic why can you be mad about a game thats founded by a companies console that you don't own?what your gonna boycott something you don't even have the device to play on?

hduce3781d ago

Bayonetta 2 wouldn't exist without Nintendo. So be grateful that they funded it and cut the fanboy stuff out. I am fortunate enough to own all 3 gen 8 consoles and a PC. I have access to all system exclusives.

iplay1up23781d ago

That is why I have PS3/4 and Wii U. There are Games I want on both systems. It is not like Bayonetta 2 is or will be the only great game for Wii U. There are like 7 GREAT games I own and play on Wii U. The past 6 weeks I have played Wii U an awful lot. Can't wait for some more great PS4 games, but I could care less if Bayonetta2 comes to the system or not.

Nintendo funded Bayonetta for "core" gamers yet so many of you, still just crap all over Nintendo. Even when Nintendo does something good.

mydyingparadiselost3781d ago

Whaaa, I bought a PS4 but I wanna play Halo! WAAAA, WAAAA! I got a Xbox but I like God of War! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! Why aren't those Marios games on my PS3!?! WAAAAaaaaaaaa!

SnotyTheRocket3781d ago

The game wouldn't EXIST without Nintendo. They funded the damn thing.

JuleyJules3781d ago

Be grateful you have the chance to play a sequel. However it's your choice to ignore the opportunity by not buying a Wii U. Nobody is forcing you not to have a second console. But those who don't go for it could miss out on a fantastic game. Meanwhile Wii U owners will enjoy a game that could sell well on a system that won't have tons of similar games to compete against it!

just-joe3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Then that's your problem, you'll have to deal with deep seeded hatred for a company that saved a franchise that would have been dead otherwise.

CaptainN3781d ago (Edited 3781d ago )

Thats the whole point...you buy a console to get games you want. If you want the game your supposed to buy the console.Gamers like you today are whats screwing up the industry and thats why there are barely any exclusives anymore. You all pout and complain if a game isnt multiplatform. Exclusives help sell consoles and if your going to act like a child and think being spitefull to yourself by denying yourself the game, because its on Nintendo, is the mature thing to do then enjoy not playing a series you like. Fans like you will whine about how Nintendo doesnt cater to you, how they make games for kids,or all they have is Mario..but when they go out of their way to bring you a game you like thats "mature" such as this,or bring something new to the table like Wonderful 101, your no where to be found!

So now Nintendo is in a no win situation. If they bring you mature games your into or new games, gamers like you wont buy them because they are on Nintendo. Then when they make Mario,Zelda & Pokemon the complaint is they make the same stuff and its for kids! Honestly a lot of gamers are so jaded today that your actually ruining what made gaming fun to begin with!

You dont see fans complaining about Dead Rising 3 as an Xbox One exclusive do you??

Neonridr3781d ago

@bessy67 - who's to blame there then? If you don't want to purchase a console, then you don't deserve to gripe about the exclusives that you won't be getting.

If you own an Xbox One, would you sit here griping that you don't get to play Uncharted, God of War, The Last of Us or any other exclusive Playstation game? I didn't think so..

yewles13781d ago

It would not matter. The developers will not be out the Money. Nintendo would. What part of Nintendo funding the game do people not understand?

mydyingparadiselost3781d ago

Just like the 1st one got so much support that only Nintendo was willing to fund a sequel?

ABizzel13781d ago

@AceBlazer13

According to the article Twitter fans, I haven't seen anymore of the complaints since the original announcement.

@LOL_WUT

Hope the best for them as well, but I just don't see it doing anything on Wii U. It's just not a game for Nintendo's target audience, and with less than 5 million consoles sold, compared to the PS360 who both have over 60 million each at the time, and the game still only did 2 million, I just can't see it. 200k at most, so hopefully they had a low budget.

TwilightBites3781d ago

It's totally a game for nintendo's audience, its unique, fantastical, and over the top. Bayonetta herself is sexual, yea, buthardcore nintendo fans would eat up the bayonetta experience, unlike the ps3,xb360 audience did. I think it appeals way more to someone into smash bros than it does to someone into battlefield/GTA/forza/madden. ust a thought.

ABizzel13781d ago

No PlayStation is the console for hack and slash games. Pretty much every hack and slash sells better on PlayStation, and one of Sony's top selling franchise is a hack and slash (god of war). Bayonetta has nothing in common with Smash bro.

"We are just happy that we get to make Bayonetta 2 for the patient fans"

So Microsoft and Sony Bayonetta fans....aren't fans?

Look I get it's an exclusive but don't make it out that Nintendo fans will be the ONLY fans of this game because it's only on Wii U.

I mean don't act like Nintendo are your saviours...yeah they funded it while others wouldn't but come on it's not like they did it from the goodness of their hearts. They needed third party software, they saw you guys needed funding, they swooped in and funded it, it's just good business that's all...however I still can't believe for a second though that after a FANTASTIC relationship with Konami with MGS Rising with great reviews and even sales that Konami wouldn't at least consider publishing the game for them...and I said at least consider.

darkstar183781d ago

-Foxtrot3781d ago

Lord_Sloth3781d ago

I'm sorry but that's just plain untrue. I wouldn't pay $360 for a single game no matter what it was. I don't buy any console with less than 3 games for it I'm willing to play. It's why I don't play MMO games. I don't see a game as being worth $100+.

CaptainN3781d ago

How many people bought a PS3 just to play Metal Gear Solid 4???People all of a sudden wont buy a Wii U for a series they like??? It really comes down to too many gamers holding on to grudges with Nintendo. As gamers its time to go back to the way its always been, if a system has the game you want, you buy it.And lets not talk price, since Wii U is the cheapest to get!

Nintendo stepped and no one else did. You want to get mad at anyone, get mad at the publishers that didn't bother because the 1st game didn't sell well. Don't act like Nintendo is the only company that does anything for the sake of business.

-Foxtrot3781d ago

I'm not saying that, don't see why your twisting things to something you want to see for the sake of an argument

I just find it funny how the only companies mentioned by then who said no are Microsoft and Sony. What about third party publishers...I haven't heard them talk about any of them...as I've said I find it hard to believe they didn't ask Konami even though they were working with them for ages on Rising. Did Konami not even consider it.

Why ask only two big companies like Sony/MS who are most likely to say no.

Wouldn't looking for a third party publisher net you and them more money in the end.

"Don't act like Nintendo is the only company that does anything for the sake of business."

I'm not calling them for that, again your looking for something which isn't there.

I'm just sick of PG thinking Nintendo are their saviours and even gamers when really they've given no evidence that they asked many people to publish it, again, they've only ever mentioned MS and Sony.

Neonridr3781d ago

@Foxtrot - when the IP holders (SEGA) won't even publish the game, what chance do you think of another 3rd party publisher wanting to take a chance on it?
