Nice try.

"The Definitive Edition of “Tomb Raider” was official announced during the VGX awards show event. The PS4 and Xbox One versions feature improved graphics with the resolution being increased to natively support 1080p. The character model for Lara Croft has also been enhanced due to the added graphical prowess of the next-generation systems. All of the post-launch DLC expansions are also included."

Guess there is a reason why you have only one bubble.

GamersHeaven3787d ago

1080p 60fps I will consider purchasing for 60$ if not i will wait for price drop.

I already got the definite version of this game on PC for $25.00. It was for $6.99 during the fall sale on Steam. This version doesn't add survival elements lame, blood and gore is not mature

curtis923787d ago

you framerateophiles crack me up.

Ju3787d ago (Edited 3787d ago )

Totally agree. Going just by FPS, KZ:SF is a the best game out of the the 3 top tear shooter and has the best animation system, lowest lag, and highest resolution of the three - but runs the lowest framerate. Now how's that?

I get the obsession. Played Crysis3 on the PS3 recently and this game - while it pushes the console quite a bit - runs at average of 22 (!) fps. In contrast to AC4 which runs steady 30fps - and this is the magic threshold. No slow down, no hickup, no screen tearing. 60 isn't for me (CoD feels and plays last gen), it does nothing for BF4 - which had to drop resolution to achieve this. I want 1:1 pixels on my screen, and I can see it - have both PS3 and PS4 on the same screen and this makes this quite apparent when one is a blur mess and the other is crystal clear. None of the PS4 games ever dip below 30 - and this is what's required. Tombraider will play just fine @ 30.

At the same time, I have the PS3 version already. How about a $10 upgrade version?

Prime1573786d ago

considering I 100%ed the SP in tomb raider, 1080p 60fps isn't enough for me to repurchase it at $60. I will wait for the $30-$40 mark... unless they fixed MP, I did want to do more of the MP, it was... just. so. broken.

s45gr323787d ago

No survival elements like dehydration, hunt to get healed, die of frostbite, etc. No a mere resolution upgrade, blood and gore yay. For $60.00 that is insane, no Tres FX that is a shame. This game was for $6.99 on Steam during the Fall sale. Console gamers are getting rip off

Mr-Dude3787d ago

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will run at a native resolution of 1080p, support TressFX hair rendering, and a next-gen Lara Croft model.

From an earlier arcticle....

My_Outer_Heaven3787d ago

So basically it will have all the features the PC version had.

wolfsaviorzx3787d ago

PC version can run at 4K (and higher when newer monitors come out) and I notice hair moving around. not that anyone thinks the hair thing is important.

souljah453787d ago (Edited 3787d ago )

They already announced this version has the tress fx and has been rebuilt so different from the original pc version

s45gr323786d ago

Still no survival elements similar or better than MGS 3, that would of done it the definite version and the most mature version. Tres FX eats a lot of power rendering the console version to 480p 30 frames per second with Tres FX enabled

I can't see this edition being anything new... the PC version maxed out on a high spec PC still beats whatever they throw at the next gen ones.

The pc version dident have a redone lara craft model.

The Best Tomb Raider Games Ranked

We've gone on many adventures with Lara Croft. With another reboot in the making, Wealth of Geeks felt it was a good time to go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and remember the best of those tomb-raiding thrills.

I do agree that Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness was the worse one 😂 I remember playing some of it and I took it back. That game was just awful in every way. I bought it used at gamestop and glad they had that 7 day return policy for used games 😂

Pyrofire9560d ago

Would it be worth saying why?

ZeekQuattro60d ago

Simple. He's been hating on the Tomb Raider reboots for years. I can't imagine seeing them at the top of a best TR game list let alone being on the list in general sitting well with him because of it.

-Foxtrot60d ago

Zeek

“Hating”

No no, just pointing out how TR mutated into a generic action adventure game losing the appeal of what it once was when it was more about puzzles and platforming over going Rambo, slaughtering waves of enemies

But hey, continue being a dick and speaking about me like I’m not going to see the comment.

MeatyUrologist59d ago

Foxtrot, I'm curious if you have played the most recent games. Sure the 2013 reboot was hugely focused on combat, but each follow up became less and less about combat to the point where outside of a few large scale story missions I don't even remember combat being a part of shadow of the tomb raider. Shadow was so puzzle focused it actually was a bit much for me and I love the TR puzzles.

I still feel like Rise was the best of the series and I was a huge fan of the originals. To me it struck the perfect balance of exploration, platforming, puzzles, and combat. Not saying your opinion is wrong I'm just curious what you think they should have done different. Games do need to evolve somewhat to stay relevant. Would you prefer small linear jumping platform levels like the original?

RavenWolfx60d ago

I would agree Rise for 1 and the reboot as 2. Shadow is a bit high, though.

Sonic188160d ago (Edited 60d ago )

I think Shadow wasn't even develop by crystal dynamics. I thought it was the worse in the new trilogy

Pyrofire9560d ago

That's right. Shadow was developed by Eidos Montreal who who went and made Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy next. (Great game)
Meanwhile after Rise of the Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics made Marvels Avengers. (bad game)

MeatyUrologist60d ago

Agrees. First two are correct but Shadow should be around 5-6.

terstomp60d ago

For me, Legend should be alot higher (along with the other two ). Shadow, I enjoyed it, but has too much has fluff, as modern games tend to do. Playing the remastered series, and apart from the controls, is very good.

jznrpg60d ago

I really enjoyed the first 2 games, Legend and the first of the reboots and the rest I didn’t get into so I never finished.

robtion60d ago

Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
