I don't get why so many people are so negative about DKC. It's the reason I bought my WiiU. DKCR and DKC TF will be the best games on the console. Retro did a truly fantastic job in every sense of the word. THey nailed the classic feel of the old games while making it new.

DKCTF is one of my top 2 anticipated games for 2014 along with Dark Souls 2. Also semi excited for Evil Within, The Birth of Isaac Rebirth & SuperSmashBros but everything else I don't care.

As someone who has played all the games in the franchise, I'd say the announcement of cranky was pretty huge but the execution of the event could have been better. I like Joe Mchale's comedy but the event just did not seem professional. You had the nintendo guys in suits and the rockstar representatives looking classy with the hosts in a plaid shirt and the other guy wearing layers of jackets.

Don't get me wrong, it was a step up from previous years where they had to use corporate advertising, but i think they took it a step too far. They need to find a happy medium with advertising. No doritos and mountain dew in the game award titles etc but make it look halfway professional at least.

I'm not saying it should be a suit and tie event but at least a dress shirt would have been appropriate for this type of event. Happy mediums.

When it finished I found myself thinking I could have been playing this whole time, I want my 3 Hours back. From Joel making fun of gamers and the industry with terrible jokes and You Tube degenarate clips to the stoners trying to run the live music part which they seem to think anyone who plays GTAV only listens to Rap music and only showing what, 3 awards. This was no where close to being an awards show. No wonder Spike didn't air it, they should have stuck with the old format. Atleast do it in front of a crowd made up of the industry.

The majority of the show was terrible i agree, BUT Quantum Break and Titanfall looked amazing. The Division, and the Witcher as well.

Well considering the "gameplay" footage of Quantum Break was barely even .gif worthy, even that was a disappointment.

about 3 seconds of actual footage does not qualify as the world premiere of anything.

@rytgear, all he said though is that they looked amazing, and they did. Gameplay or not, they at least seem to show so promise. I guess I cannot argue that they did hype this up to the point where people expected much more. I cannot help myself from feeling that every comment that mentions a x1 exclusive gets ripped up for some reason.

I am glad to see that many studios didn't waste their hype on half-assed trailers for this mess of a show, though.

i think developers and Nintendo decide not to show good games at the VGX coz maybe they felt it is just not like before..coz its live..coz if you notice how they questioned Reggie if its the only one to be announced..and with the metroid pin on reggies chest..i guess they did prepare a surprise but end up keeping it to somewhere more nicer to show..

just try to think why NaughtyDog, Santa Monica, Epic games, Bethesda, Rockstar, EA, not even a Halo teaser and more big developers arent even present to show trailer of upcoming games?? im thinking they back out

I actually watched the whole 3 hours and I think I died a little bit inside. The worst of it all it was in the middle of the night for me. I should have stopped watching after the first 30min.

Honestly it was a slap in the face to gamers. Look at the portions of the show where they had ghetto kids literally just yelling into the mic for 10 minutes outside....

Literally one guy was just standing there yelling random things like "I have shoulder pads!!" and they all started laughing like we are 5 year olds.....

Couldn't tell if it was an actual production, or if it was just a youtube skit.

I actually started watching, to see if there would be any new reveals, etc. After seeing how the people putting that thing on didn't even care about it, I left (had something more important and pressing to do, actually watching paint dry).

This was a huge overcompensation in the other direction from last year. People complained about the 2012 VGAs for being too mainstream and turning it into a celeb popularity contest, and now they went wayyyyy too far into the other direction.

Very very boring, awkward, and sort of a cruel joke on those who were invited.
