I can get down with the other two, but Street Fighter, with its five versions(exaggerating, of course) designed essentially to milk money from the series' loyal fans... yeah, that wouldn't be on my list.

Honestly, none of the three would be, but there were far better fighters released than Street Fighter IV. Mortal Kombat, Injustice, BlazBlue, just to name a few.

While the fighting games you listed are all great, Street Fighter is still the best imo. Also you'll be able to buy the Ultra Street Fighter 4 upgrade for $15 if you own SSFIV or SSFIV AE and get 5 new characters, new stages and new modes.

The only time you couldn't upgrade was from SFIV to SSFIV and even there SSFIV didn't came out as a full price title. Most of the SF fans appreciate the upgrades and it's a good thing for competative play.

Funny that you listed BlazBlue because we've seen 4 versions of that game on PS3 too.

I think all 3 of those games are perfectly valid choices for the best games of last generation.

Deus Ex yes, it was one of the most enjoyable games I played this gen.

Dark Souls and enjoyed even more, but I still think that Demon souls was even better. I enjoyed the dark feel to that one.

Not into my fighting games, so for my 3rd choice....I don't know.
Can't decide between Uncharted, God of War, Xcom or Fallout.

Demon Soul's > Dark Souls.

SF4, no disagreement here.

Deus Ex? Haven't played it but I'd rather give it to Uncharted 2.

yeah Ive got Dark Souls, Fallout 3, Heavy Rain,, Little Big Planet, Mortal Kombat 9, on my list, plus thats only from what i remember :p

Honestly don't think I could narrow it down to 3, it would take too much deliberation as there have been many great games.

i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)

I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
