How Nelson Mandela Influenced the Gaming Industry in South Africa

This morning South Africans woke up to the news we’ve all been dreading for most of 2013: Nelson Mandela had passed away. He was a political figure that overpowered apartheid and collectively avoided an all out civil war in South Africa. Instead, this leader brought all of his people together to love one another. He’s also the reason the gaming industry is as strong as it is in South Africa today.

The Apartheid government killed a maximum of 7518 black people during the 46 years of Apartheid. Thus white on black.

The liberation movements (meaning Mandela's ANC and others) were responsible for 13482 politically motivated killings. Thus black on black.

This number includes a massacre by the SANDF in 1978 in Kassinga where they killed 600 SWAPO refugees. Mandela was a great man who did some not so great things early in his life, but regretted them, was harshly punished, sought redemption, and led South Africa to prosperity. You don't like what he did? Don't post in threads about him.

I sighed as soon as I read the title. Its the most predictable crap you'd expect after everyone falls head over heels at an iconic persons death. He/She is attributed to everything and its nauseating. Mandela stood up for a righteous cause and did a lot of good but he was no saint as the media portrays. Even Gandhi when you research his life did some downright objectionable things.
