The main problem (having recently replaying HL) is the mechanics of the game are soooo hideously old fashioned that to not update them would be terrible but at the same time they still need to keep the HL feel or it will be a disaster, if they had of released 3 in a timely manner and not trolled the fans this would not have been a problem.

Valve can GTFO as far as I am concerned regarding HL, I am so pissed at them for leaving us on that cliff hanger for YEARS!!!

Because you obviously know how they should make their game. Look I'm sure Valve knows what to do to keep gameplay fresh in their newest game.

Besides, it has only been 6 years since their last half-life game, going on 7, it's not as bad as you think. Half-Life 2 was released 6 years after the first and it was still well received.

If a game like Portal 2 is any indication, then that means they still got the talent, because that was an amazing game. To top it all off, it was still made with the Source engine.

They are probably going to announce it via the showing of their new version of the Source engine.
