so it is getting a physical release just not for the next gen systems?

crxss3792d ago

Won't be seeing physical copies of next gen versions until enough people sign that petition! Konami is tracking it. Get goin people! http://www.twinfinite.net/?...

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3792d ago

From what I gather there are physical next gen versions. Just they are special editions only.

Xaphy3792d ago

I dont like how the prologue has to be separate from the full game.

Double_O_Revan3792d ago

Or that is cost $30!

I Love MGS, but I'm not really sure how I feel about this yet. I hope there is more info before it's launch to explain and justify the price and reasoning why its separate.

hay3790d ago (Edited 3790d ago )

30 here, 60 later. 90$ split over two generations with one game? Someone was thinking about money A LOT. And I'm one of those who think Gran Turismo Prologue was a cheap move.
I mean, we had that promised previously with slew of cut content with Half Life 2, Sin, Alan Wake or Heavy Rain for example. This idea has a looong tradition of not delivering.

teknx3792d ago (Edited 3792d ago )

I don't mind the prologue. This means we can play next gen MGS in a few months compared to having to wait till like Spring 2015 if they released it all together.

Kojima was saying how Phantom Pain is 300 times larger than the world in Ground Zeroes, so that is going to take time, and having GZ in the meantime helps.

deecee333792d ago

Prologue is fine with me- sooner than later. MGS is a big reason I always buy a new console in recent years- it's one of the most epic stories ever created in a video game IMO.

will PS4 get 1080p version and Xbone 720p?

This game doesn't have to meet a launch release deadline. I'd say both Xbone and PS4 will be 1080p, it is Kojima after all.

GenericNameHere3792d ago

At the Xbone launch, there was an "exclusive content" on MGSV:GZ. So, Kojima took moneyz from both Sony and Microsoft. Dat balance.

Any other games that had exclusive contents on both consoles? Only other game(s) I can think of are the Soul Calibur series (SCII - Link on GameCube, Heihachi on PS2, Spawn on Xbox / SCIV - Darth Vader on PS3, Yoda on Xbox 360... Well, until they were both made as DLC on both consoles)

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan169d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara169d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721169d ago (Edited 169d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus169d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow169d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga185d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19185d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19185d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq185d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger185d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder185d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils185d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder185d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85185d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac185d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420185d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim185d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo184d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
