Look this isn't about David Hayer being replaced but honestly his voice acting is horrible in my opinion. He doesn't sound like what Snake would sound like at all.

to be honest its not HORRIBLE...i mean it just sounds horrible because its taken little bits here and their but if you watch the gameplay of him talking unedited its alright.Not anything amazing but its acceptable.

Wow….. horrible. Seriously how does Kojima think this is any better? He sounds so generic. At least when you heard David as snake there was no denying who that was.

I just don't understand why Kojima would change snakes voice? It was perfect and honestly this snake without david doesn't feel like snake at all:(

I still don't think it's Snake (or at least none of the usual Snakes, Big Boss or Solid) we're seeing there, that this guy is a doppleganger or something like that, made to look like Big Boss for some reason.

He is so flat and generic it is unreal, snake had a certain charm to his voice and it is also nostalgia affecting my opinion but that does not make it irrelevant.

I really do not know about this new metal gear.....from the gameplay it seemed really action based, auto lock on upon being spotted, really dumb AI, scripted sequences when it was meant to be dynamic (c4 cliff APC trick)

Never felt this way about MGS before

I like it because it sounds more realistic instead of comic book/anime character like David Hayter, also it's not as raspy. Also, if you take snippets of dialogue out of any scene it would sound a little awkward. Like taking a bunch of master chief voice clips and compiling them in one video without hearing the conversation or the rest of the scene.

It is a video game..why does how real he sounds matter? if anything hayter sounded more real as he gave the character a unique voice.

IF I heard kiefers boss I would not be able to differentiate it from jack beaur or anyone else kiefer has played, he is super limited in his range.

Regardless of whether or not it's a video-game, it's still an acting job where motion capture is involved meaning that the performance looks and sounds as natural and grounded as possible.We have reached the level where acting and characters come to life not JUST because of the voice. Facial expressions and body movement also play a part. And kieferland is using a grounded voice instead of an overly cartoony one because that helps his performance. Just like Troy Baker who 85% of the time, uses his own voice instead of heavily changing it completely like he did with characters like the joker.

So what's stopping them from having Kiefer covering the motion while Hayter does the voice? Believe it or game critics gave the Metal Gear Solid top notches in the acting department in almost ever console release before. I mean for Yevon's sake, David Hayter gave Solid Snake emotion and won the hearts of million back when Solid Snake original model face was a stiff blurred mess of polygons.

David Hayter was an unknown so he was perfect to fill the role and given room for both model/voice actor to grow with the fanbase.

Not to mention they are still going to keep the motion capture for the Japanese release (no re-lipsyncing) which is going to be matched with Akio Otsuka

First Michael Ironside not voicing Sam and now this. Some voice actors are perfect for their character and shouldn't be replaced.

Yeah, i have to say this dosn`t sound good at all.

When he said "kept you waiting huh?", i`m still waiting for Snake`s real voice to show up.

Maybe it`s a doppelganger, like bishop-br and others are saying, but it would seem a bit strange to bring in Keifer to do a "fake" Snake in a way. He`s the game i`m sure they hope will bring in more player`s to the series, but can damage the fans they should be moast worried about keeping.

I agree with Einhert as well. I`m not feeling great about what`s shown gameplaywise either and that`s strange for an MGS game.

His delivery is off; it sounds like an actor reading lines rather than a character that's part of a world.

Its pretty damn good honestly. When he does the gruff Snake voice at the beginning saying Kaz he sounded like Snake for real. But if that's the case and he sounds like Snake why change the voice if he's going to try to emulate the classic VA?

All around odd decision. I bet he's going to play Snake in the film and Kojima wanted to create a universe of film and games that are coherent. Kojima has always wanted his games to be accepted in the same way films are and seems infatuated with Hollywood. Maybe he thinks this will gain acceptance of the series or something idk. That or Hayter is still Solid and Sutherland is Snake.

I'm just angry to see Hayter dogged out for no reason. He was an amazing VA and is and will always be Snake to us fans. Il support the homeboy any way I can.

My opinion exactly ^^ . Love the first scene but after that it started to sound like a normal person.

What kojima did is reasonable but it's not what people want right now though. I hope people get used to his voice because that's what we will get. Unless the actor get better and try to learn the voice in the previous games.

One is solidus snake and the other is gray fox as a body double, that's what I think though kiefer Sutherland sounds like a bad audition and wrong for the role hope David hayter comes in it at some point as the real big boss solid Snake
