It's pretty clear almost everything looks better with cryengine... if they could just nail the gameplay. So close yet so far away...

Am i the only one that loves crysis gameplay? Multiplayer is a little weak but single player is pretty amazing with a more open sandbox environment and multilayered approach to combat with the nano-suit n all.

It's all good but the makers of Metro made the game on a super tight budget while still achieving a good looking game therefore made a good profit on sales... a lesson Square Enix could learn from.

Thank you! Finally someone agrees. Last Light, on max, is just untouched. Crysis 3 and BF4 have better character models, yes, but tessellation (which NO game tops Last Light on), environments, lighting and the outdoor atmosphere are all better looking in Metro.

true. this has probably the best true-to-life graphics on console fps, it looks extremely polished. i play it again after finishing it when it came out and it still looks sick, DLCs are half good, half bad though.

I feel the same. Nothing quite touches this game maxxed out.
I remember fighting with what seemed like the entirety of N4G that this game on Ultra looked better than Shadowfall.
Hell, there's a good number of titles that look better that Shadowfall.

Is it just me or do i think Metro still looks better? Would be nice to get a solid gameplay mechanics with this engine though.

A bunch of people here said the CryEngine looked bad when some guy tried to recreate TLOU. I think it's a pretty engine.

It's probably the best looking engine currently available. Some people on N4G just get touchy when they see recreations of PS3 exclusives with better looking graphics.

It's an amazing engine for sure, but I'm curious as to why very few developers are adopting it in the same way UE, and ID tech were widely used.

Hardly anyone uses idTech anymore outside of Zenimax studios.

CryEngine is an expensive alternative to UE3 and Unity.

Looks great except for things that were strange in Crysis 3 as well, subtle rainbow colored trimming on a lot of objects (I assume that has to do with 3D), and strong aliasing in places.

It's called chromatic aberration ( or chromatic abomination as i like to call it ) I guess it's a post prossesing effect its even in SweetFX now it looks so wierd when overdone like in Payday 2 , idk if theres an option to turn it off in SDK , but I fear it's slowly becoming new lens flare , but people don't seem to hate on it with such passion
