Seriously. There are two games there that are exclusive to Ps4. One of them is not worth paying for, and the other is well...would you buy a 360 for Geometry wars? A Ps3 for Super stardust? No you wouldn't. There a nice extra. But have no relevance overall. Just like Resogun.

^ That's what I been saying it's gonna take over the PS2 sales. I was right last gen in saying the PS3 would beat the xbox 360.

And I've been seeing some of the same comments. "But there are no games". The games are coming and owning a launch system is an experience. Sometimes gaming is just more than about the games. It's about life, like knowing you are one of the few owning a launch system and other people have yet to experience even touch the controller or touch the system. I just don't find it as fun or rewarding to wait for a system that I'm gonna get anyway. You're gonna be paying the same price when the "games" come out anyway.

And you might not even be able to get a system when you want it. The Wii was sold out for an entire year. I was in line for a cheap TV on Black Friday. And the two highschoolers in front of me were in line for the PS4. It took them two hours to find out the the PS4 wasn't even in stock. I said to myself I'm glad I got one and to have nothing to worry about.

It's kind of like the mindset of girls who own jewlery. It doesn't do anything but it's a luxury to own and to show off.

I think it's either unethical or ignorant that the retailer would just stock the PS4s in a random aisle like that and then think the people are gonna police themselves. So they're either stupid that they didn't know the PS4 was in demand, or they chose to do this so it would get out on the news which is not ethical.

I'm not so sure that these are parents buying for the kids. I'd say it's mainly for themselves or people trying to flip the system. Considering the demographic of PlayStation gamers is biggest from 18-35.

And to think I preordered the PS4 and made sure to nab some games, the camera, and an extra controller beforehand....Only to find out there was no midnight launch (Xbox One did in my area tho for some reason) and I just strolled in like a boss with a big grin on my face and was out $700 within 10mins!!!

Not really...I mean...sure in a way..but - as always games are the most important part. It WILL live up to the hype...soon. Within a few months. People who get the Ps4's day 1 get mediocre games. Essentially just a waste of a system for a few months. Theres nothing worth getting a next gen console for yet.

I hope the X1 manages to surpass it's own hype(lack of hype) and puts up some competition again this gen. More games the merrier.

strictly from a system standpoint, i think sony did a fantastic job with the price point and what you get. as far as launch titles, i will admit. that none of them interested me (im an rpg/horror fan). i picked up shadowfall, and as a person who doesnt really like fps (last fps i played was kz2 when it first game out), i cant realy get enough of the multiplayer, even though my "k/d" ratio sucks LOL.

In a sense I agree with you, the console is AMAZING, BUT...I found Killzone to be not as great as KZ2 or 3 from what I've played of those games (never owned a PS3). I find myself spending all of my gaming time on my PS4 on Battlefield.

First party wise I'd say it's a good showing on PS4, but still a little lacking. Other than Battlefield I don't really do anything on my PS4. Same goes for Xbox One, it's just playing Forza all the time and there's not really any features there yet...But this is the teething stage, day 1 consoles will always be lacking in the features and games that were catered to us 1 or 2 years after the console launches of PS3 and Xbox 360!

Where I live it was crazy fisty cuffs galore , what actually happened if you didn't pre-order with game before the 6th August you couldn't get a Ps4 console on launch night but they didn't tell the customers that so those who couldn't have there console a small minority were upset hehe not funny because it was mayhem , I'am glad they couldn't fight it was just a couple of rolls on the floor very funny though haha .

Matching demand at launch isn't even a good idea. Even if they could fill demand perfectly, they would lose out on the hype created by the exclusivity of the system being hard to get a hold of.

Plus, they have to keep up with creditors. If you produce more than you can quickly sell, you fall behind.

You know that making that many costs you a couple of $B. Being off by 1M can become quite expensive. They sold every one they could build and afford to build. Money alone isn't the only criteria either. Logistics on that scale must be a nightmare. This isn't a phone, it's much larger, shipping and delivery incl. warehouse space becomes an issue. What Sony did with that launch on a global scale is quite impressive. They started producing in June, btw.

The logistics of having that many units at launch are massive. Foxconn had to step up their human rights violations to new levels as a result.

If they tried to ready 10 million units the Foxconn suicide watch would have to go into overdrive.

I presume something like a PS4 is more intensive to manufacture than say the iphone, which usually launches with nearly 10 million units day 1.

Don`t remember seeing anything like that when I got my Dreamcast when I was living in Germany. It was very popular in some regions, but I think in Germany it was a bit less popular compared to other countries. Still love the DC to bits and still got my launch console here working fine.

As people know i'm a supporter of the PS4.

But there are a few things that annoy me.

PAYING to play online.
PAYING £10-15 more for the games.
No MP3/streaming support.

yes the barebone console is cheaper.

But as Mark Cerny Has stated time and time again. Time to triangle is back to PS1 days, so why are the games dearer. If anything they should have cost more for PS3.

I know some people care about PS+ I couldn't careless about rented games while your paying for online.

They should have kept free online and payed for + as it is now.

Maybe things will change, But i doubt it.

time to triangle might be shorter, but nowadays the overall quality of games are much higher (those high res textures don't create themselves, and them hifi audio doesn't generate itself, and higher polygon characters aren't made from a macro). but yes i do feel like the publishers are trying to maintain last gen prices on games.

Higher quality textures were there to begin with, most of the time, they are just downgraded for current gen.

5.1 has been here along time,lol. Audio is no better on PS4. Just a different chipset.

You have so much more data with this new generation that it easily offsets time to triangle - in fact we draw about 10x more triangles now. The biggest thing becomes art. This just evolved over time. I mean, just look at the game size alone. Average games now are 30-45GB, while big games on the PS3 are 12-13.

It is already in the English character set, and it is not MORE expensive to translate than on xbox360 and PS3. The languages did not all the sudden get harder. It is taking advantage because you can.

Do you realize that we have high res textures on PC games since 5 years and games are cheaper than console? The textures are made in high res and then scaled down for consoles. Not the other way around^^

@windblowsagain I know what your saying. If any consolation, xbox one will play cd but will not play music from the USB. PS4 can play from a USB if you like. I think I read it will play from cd eventually. With a USB you can get way more music than a cd.

Also I know both Microsoft, and Sony are price gauging you there, Microsoft more so (from what I read of launch prices a month ago). I know your not a PS4 troll, I think all the disagrees are from people assuming you are. Anyway, you have us xbox360 fans to blame for having to pay for online play(I used to be one, until reveal back in Feb). My bad, no more though.

I saw Xbox One games from between £55 and £60. And PS4 games were between £45 and £55

P.S PSN was down yesterday but i was still able to play games. The same cant be said for the Xbox One owners who were not able to download the patch correctly due to server overload.

The "Black Friday" concept has finally arrived to Norway,thought they've actually stretched it out to last the whole weekend.Nice to see so much stuff available for basically pocket change

Though Norway has always been a PS country,I'm still surprised to see how few PS4's we got to buy.It's like Sony knew they've already won the console war in Norway so they just decided to feed us a little bit.Most online shops only had a few thousands pre-orders available and most retail shops where I live is all out. I sadly couldn't take time off work ransacking the whole town for one unit. I'll try a secret final option tomorrow , if that's not successful I'll wait for the PS4/Vita combo later on. I've heard that the next available batch of PS4's might come late december but most likely it will not happen before a few months into 2014.

It's amazing that people act this way. Sony said that they would have enough consoles for launch so that preorders would be filled and that there would be more consoles for sale on launch day. The stores by me have been getting shipments of PS4's. One or two shipments a week. They're available if you want them. Just have to get to the store early in he morning.

Sony also said that they bought warehouses all over the world to stock PS4's and made a deal with UPS to deliver their products regularly throughout the launch window.
