Star Citizen Keeps Shattering Records: Flies Past $32,000,0000, Raises Two Million in Two Days

Only two days ago we reported about Star Citizen hit $30,000,000, but the crowd funding cavalcade shows no signs of slowing down. As a matter of fact, it switched gears the money is rolling in even faster than usual.

Today the game hit and surpassed $32,000,000, raising over two million dollars in two days thanks to a very successful anniversary sale. It’s currently sitting on a luxurious total of $32,363,550.

I don't fully understand the hype for the graphics. Now before everybody jumps on me hear me out. I do think that the game looks good from what I've seen (which isn't much to be perfectly honest). But what I've seen are spaceships, halls, hallways, people and space.

It's all things that aren't too hard to make look good (except for the people). Most of the stuff in this game is kind of geometrical. It's much harder to make trees or grass that's blowing in the wind look good. I understand that the game is set in space so there won't be any landscapes.

My point is the game looks good but not impressive imo. It isn't comparable to other visually great games like Crysis 3, Ryse or KZ:SW cause they haven't much in common.

Maybe I haven't seen enough to really judge the graphics though.

I agree with you, but I think Star Citizen is bringing graphics to a much larger scale than ever before, so that's why they are impressive.

Aegis dynamics Avenger looks pretty good. I think this is the default ship for Squadron 42 or I may be wrong.

PC games do NOT require that much money to make because they can done by small teams with NO Publisher!

$8 to $18 million is the average budget of a PC game except MMO's.

So SC having a $32m budget is crazy.

Plus No money has to spent on Advertisement which EATS up a lot of consoles budget along with License fees

pre-orders can be easily cancelled, and don't affect the budget or development of the game, well barely. They're just a way of securing your copy or committing to buying the game...which has already been shown for for you to make that decision in the first place.

Regardless, it has nothing to do with that game. It may be amazing or it may be a fail, the graphics look insane though.

Star Citizen is being developed by the guy was responsible for the most enjoyable space-flight games to date; Wing Commander, Privateer, and Freelancer.

STARCITIZEN is NOT coming to a console!

Sony/MS have too many rules and Chris only wants SC on ONE server. He does NOT want to do a PC server and a PS4 server.

So if you want to play SC go buy a PC.

By the way NO console has a game like SC. so if u guys are getting tired of all your games having numbers after them then go get a PC.

I also love how there are several people here talking BAD about SC and these clowns do not even have gaming PC or know what SC is all about.

its not happening. He said possibly, after the PC version was done, and only if sony/ms dropped all requirements that other games have (i.e no patch fees, enable cross platform play, etc).

so its extremely unlikely.

oh yeah.. sony\MS would have to fund it all too.

Or do you think that PC gamers will be ok with CIG and CR to take our money and make you a console port? Yeah.. doubtful.

EDIT: Yeah the shitstorm that happened after a ps4 devkit was seen to be used as a monitor stand and CR response:

"IF the platform holders (Sony & Microsoft) allow us to update the code and data without restrictions and odious time consuming QC procedures, IF they allow our community to openly interact with each other across platforms then I would CONSIDER supporting them."

AND

"And even then it would only be contemplated as a port from the PC, not the other way around plus we would require a financial commitment by Sony to make it happen"

And he is not the only member of CIG to say this. Basically if you want your port either ms or sony has to pay for it. Not PC gamers.
