Gareth at Skewed and Reviewed has posted an opinion piece stating that both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One deserve incomplete grades. He states this not as a negative towards either system but rather due to the fact that pending updates and fixes as well as a shortage of top flight exclusives at launch have not allowed consumers to see what the systems are fully capable of.

The PS4/X1 launches aren't perfect due to limited software and hardware issues..
Well, more than ever in the past, these consoles can be improved quite a bit after they launch. It was possible to a certain degree last generation, but the hardware was so limited that there was only so much you could do.
Now, it's one thing if you grade it as it is at launch. I don't particularly mind that. But if you're grading them for their lifetimes, then I have to say that any judgment you make now can and should be considered an interim grade.
Completely agree with the article. Everyone's giving out grades now but really, they were just released. We should expect problems. Plus, we have barely any games out for these consoles!
So true, i was always perplexed by the idea of launch console grading as it seems to imply a "finished product" which both systems are far from right now. During the coming years both systems will receive numerous changes which makes it near impossible to predict how they will operate many years from now. System grade scores should be held after a consoles life cycle and not before i believe.
