If there's one thing i like about the Infamous games its how good they feel to play, very quick precise movements which made climbing and using your powers very smooth. From the gameplay of SS that ive seen so far it seems to be the same, which is a good thing.

Can not wait to play this game.

jc485733799d ago (Edited 3799d ago )

One of the things I like about Sony games in general is that they always aim to make the games look like a lot of effort was put into them. When I look at Crackdown, I just don't see that "quality" even though gamers still find it fun.

GarrusVakarian3799d ago (Edited 3799d ago )

I know what you mean, ive said the exact same thing before multiple times. There's just a certain quality to PS exclusives....i can never really put my finger on it. They are just well made, very polished games and you can tell how much love and attention went into them....that's the best way i can explain it.

Crackdown (1st game) was awesome btw.

b163o13799d ago

PS4 for Christmas, SS is on the top of my list. FIFA14 is gonna have to hold me down until it's release

Honest_gamer3799d ago

Crackdown was made in Dundee a city 20 minutes from me famous for its junkies and drug use, not surprising the game had that cheap look to it however the game itself was one of the best I played on the 360 second one was meh

omi25p3799d ago

As long as they release Infamous Second Son in a bundle with the PS4 im happy.

Because at the moment there isnt any exclusive that interests me.

Infamous however is a series i love.

karl3799d ago

i still remember xbox fanboys saying infamous was just a copy of crackdown.. lol

jc485733799d ago (Edited 3799d ago )

games like Crackdown just look generic and I am not a fan of developers who simply accept that as a style because gamers seem to not mind perhaps? Maybe Sony being a Japanese company seems to make a difference on how they want developers to approach their games. Instead of being cartoony, they want to go for realism or visa versa.

Necro_5593799d ago (Edited 3799d ago )

Really generic? I am a Sony fan, own a PS4 but Crackdown is far from generic. Your comment smells of ignorance. Crackdown was way ahead of its time. Before Prototype, before Saints Row 4, before Infamous. There was Crackdown. There isnt a game like Crackdown, its far from generic. It was one of the first cell shaded games on 7th gen and a leader in that regard. Crackdown 1 was an amazing game. There was nothing like it, it was totally new. Crackdown 2 was pretty bad. But Crackdown 1 is an fabulous game.

Hicken3799d ago

Yeah, I don't agree with Crackdown looking generic, either. I didn't play a LOT of games on 360, but Crackdown's one of my favorites, easily.

... and then there was Crackdown 2.

In any case, inFamous: SS looks great, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

NateCole3799d ago

This game will be a dark horse next year for GOTY.

sobotz3799d ago (Edited 3799d ago )

Seriously? Infamous may be good, but it's not really a GOTY material like The Last of Us, GTA5, Portal, Arkham City, or Fallout. It's gonna be a 7-9 games.

And there's already too much good games coming in 2014 such MGSV, Witcher 3, Uncharted, Halo, Cyberpunk, and maybe Fallout 4.

wsoutlaw873799d ago

Im thinking it will be the witcher. that game just looks too good, too big, and too detailed. I cant wait. Infamous has a chance and could really gain a lot of new fans who wouldnt give a superhero game a chance. Uncharted is an obvious pick if it comes out. Theres so many great games like destiny and the division coming next year that its impossible to pick now.

Brix903799d ago

You forgot The Order: 1886...

ginsunuva3799d ago

Oh you've played Second Son?

SecondSon3799d ago

I've played with Second Son!

sobotz3799d ago (Edited 3799d ago )

@ginsunuva

Oh, and you've already played it either? Just take a look at the past, is the franchise ever won, or nominated for the GOTY award? And you think it's gonna be different this time? The core gameplay is almost look the same as previous.. with just more selectable powers and prettier graphics.

Infamous is great game, but not a GOTY material. Mark my words, it's gonna be 7-9 score range. And just wait and see if it's gonna be Arkham Origins all over again or not.

Rainstorm813799d ago

Arkham origins? Infamous looks like a true sequel to the infamous series made by sucker punch...Arkham was more of a cash grab made by a substitute studio

Infamous will definitely get more recognition this time around

Double_O_Revan3799d ago

The only confirmation we've had for MGS is Ground Zeroes, and thats basically only an introduction, I highly doubt the full game will make 2014.

Uncharted Just got announced. Sure it may be some way along, but again, not likely to make 2014

And when was the last time Halo was a contender for GOTY?

DriveClub and Second Son in the same month. March should be a good time to own a PS4!

Honest_gamer3799d ago

Unless u think driving games absolutely suck like me then it will still be an amazing month coz of infamous and other games :D

JewyMcJew3799d ago

True but until then it is pretty dry!

I hope Sony at least re-compiles some of their PS3 games so there is something in the PSN store.

YoungKingDoran3799d ago

argh damn it - I'm going to be on a holiday in Vanuatu in march with the gf.
Gonna have to wait till i get home.

wait a sec... remote play!
oh yeah, she's going to have a good holiday lol

DanielGearSolid3799d ago

Fire from the hip is cool, useful, for firing off quick shots while avoiding enemies

Enemy3799d ago

I still want L1 aiming though.

shivvy243799d ago

I think it still has aiming, have a look at the new 5min gameplay, there was 2 moments when it looks like the camera zooms real close to his back

RaDhi3799d ago

I loved infamous games. But I hope there is an option for L1 aiming in second son

Z_-_D_-_33799d ago

Don't you guys mean L2?! Don't forget, we're in a new generation :D

Conzul3799d ago

L2 I hope.
Yeah though the way his arm just points at enemies while firing is a bit weak, probs won't be in the final build.

Infamous games all look awesome in slow-mo for some reason. Hell, SP knows it - nearly all their trailers are half or more slow-mo.

Bathyj3799d ago

I love inFamous but the destruction on Second Son makes the first two look sterile now by comparison.

SS looks so much more alive. The swan dive attach is just amazing. It looks like a set piece but its not, its just a move that you can do, and the environment in fully reactive to it.

I remember the first time I saw it thinking, theres no way that dinosaur is destructible. I've never been so happy to be wrong.

The inFamous games deserve more love from Sony

The inFamous games are an important part of PlayStation history, but the series is in limbo and playing older entries isn't exactly easy.

Would like remasters of 1 and 2. I enjoyed them much more than Second Son.

1 & 2 had more of an emphasis on climbing and the traversal requires a bit more effort in a good way. It was rewarding. Second Son made climbing mostly obsolete so they put little effort into it. The traversal was just great in inFamous 1 & 2. There's a reason Sunset Overdrive copied and improved upon the induction grind mechanic.

Reminds me of how I felt about the decline of parkour and the well designed tombs (basically Prince Of Persia levels) that we saw in the Assassin's Creed games.

The story and atmosphere were also much better in 1 & 2.

Electricity is just a brilliant superpower for an open world city. It perfectly fits just like webslinging does in New York and it has many applications.

Cacabunga61d ago

For sure.. one of my favorite Sony licenses

Shane Kim61d ago

Loved one and two. I actually liked the story as well.

Minute Man 72161d ago

The standalone DLC was a sweet

jznrpg61d ago (Edited 61d ago )

I enjoyed Second Son but it was too short. The first 2 were great though

-Foxtrot60d ago

Second Son was alright but didn't touch the first two games

It felt short and lacking in comparison

Also I really thought Reggie would have made a better protagonist, someone who is anti-conduit as much as him and ends up becoming one would have been interesting to see. I kind of enjoyed his character throughout the game as his development.

badz14960d ago

why is it right now, the thing I want the most from Sony is to release remasters of inFamous (1,2 & SS), KZ (1,2 & 3), Resistance (RFoM, 2 and 3) and Motorstorm (1,2 & 3)??

The_Hooligan60d ago

All great choices. I would like to add Warhawk/Starhawk to that. The multiplayer in Warhawk was amazing. I am surprised Sony hasn't looked into MAG either. That game was ahead of its time.

Maybe Sony should make an internal studio like Bluepoint games and all they do is remake/remaster these amazing games, even going back to PS1,PS2,PSP, Vita portfolio. And because of the recent articles suggesting cost cutting, budget issues and releasing more games on PC, they could do that with these remakes/remasters. Do a day one on PC and PS5. At the end of the day Sony or any other company is going to do what makes them the most money.

Kiryu199260d ago

Would love a remastered collection on PS5/PC

kpgs61d ago

Wouldn't the onus be on the consumers? If they bought the Infamous games, then we'd have more games from that series.

KwietStorm_BLM61d ago

Infamous has sold millions of units. People have been asking for more. They aren't interested. Just like people have been asking for more Resistance or even a remaster collection, but insomniac isn't revisiting that either. Likely never getting a new sequel since they're a Marvel studio now.

LucasRuinedChildhood61d ago (Edited 61d ago )

No. Infamous was successful. But after a few entries (which are taking longer to make these days) a lot of Sony studios move on to new IPs. That's not a bad thing at all. They don't need to make inFamous games forever, just like we didn't need new Sly Cooper games forever.

But people would like to be able to easily play them on current hardware which is reasonable. Same for Killzone, Resistance, MGS4, etc. Good games shouldn't be trapped on old hardware. It's good that Bluepoint ported Uncharted 1-3.

kpgs61d ago

I'm not saying it wasn't successful. I enjoyed playing all 3 entries and DLC. But like you said, people move on, studios move on. But I don't think I've heard people asking for more Infamous in a long time.

Profchaos61d ago

The franchise was popular we got quite a few games but Suchet punch wanted to beach out I think that's why we got ghost of Tsushima over infamous 4

Tbh ghost is a fantastic game I'm not complaining about that but I'd love to see infamous handled by another team

jznrpg60d ago

Id take GoT2 over Infamous right now but after GoT2 or maybe 3 if they go trilogy I’d like a new Infamous.

badz14960d ago

that's the problem with Sony that puzzles me A LOT! they have studios specifically specialized in remastering and remaking old games for new gen hardware, but we are getting very few of them. SoTC, Uncharted collections, Demon's Souls Remake, TLoU Part 1...and?? that's it? why aren't they giving their old games new lease of life on the PS5 for the new generations of gamers to enjoy? they clearly have the expertise. for god sake, I can even accept lazy porting like Nintendo are doing for theirs if I have to.

FinalFantasyFanatic60d ago

There are a lot of games that consumers have been asking Playstation for, Playstation won't do it, so a lot of these developers have gone and made it themselves by any means possible such as Kickstarter (e.g. Armed Fantasia, Penny Blood, Ratatan, 100 Heroes, ect...). Developers have even asked if Sony could help them out with porting/remasters some of these older games for Playstation, they said no.

Crows9060d ago (Edited 60d ago )

Um...dude like you say that as if nobody bought them....the devs went on to do ghosts after 3 infamous games....3

People ask for new resistance and new infamous at every moment where it makes sense to mention it.

Having a remake of 1 and 2 would be very welcomed I'm sure.

chicken_in_the_corn61d ago

I would love to see a new game but a feel that would get a response similar to Saints Row.

TravsVoid61d ago (Edited 61d ago )

If they keep any of the characters from the previous games I think it would do fine unlike Saints Row which decided to replace fan favorites with less likable replacements. I wouldn't be surprised if that decision caused a majority of their buyers to be new to the series rather than returning players. I will say though, if Infamous Second Son or the first two Infamous games were remade I would be a day one buyer on PC.

ocelot0761d ago

Loved all 3 of them. I couldn't get on with the vampire spin off though. Wish they didn't move away from cole but I didn't mind the other character.

DefenderOfDoom261d ago

Loved 1 and 2 , would definitely love a new INFAMOUS single player campaign.

How Does inFAMOUS Second Son Hold up 10 Years Later?

inFAMOUS Second Son was one of PS4's best exclusives, but does it hold up a decade later?

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM98d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck98d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati97d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos98d ago (Edited 98d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88129d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183128d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie128d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
