Sony Working on Improving Voice Recognition for PlayStation Games for Current and Future Platforms

While Sony did not forcefully include the PlayStation Camera with in the PS4's box like Microsoft did with Kinect and the Xbox One, looks like research is continuing to be competitive in the voice recognition field applied to gaming, as revealed by a career opportunity ad.

I really enjoy the voice recognition. It's pretty sweet and works flawlessly. I just would for Sony to let me be able to play with my pulse headsets already!

Depending on which one you have, the Pulse Elite can plug right into the DS4 with that cord that comes with it and it works flawlessly. But yeah, I'm really hoping that patch comes out soon.

Wait, the Pulse Elite works with the DS4? Just audio, or does it work with chat as well?

It does both, but you have to hold down the home button and change the controller audio output to all for audio

Nothing's wrong with developing this over time. All of Sony's studios are working on PS4 games... This has been confirmed.

Added features over time will add value, and improve the user experience. There will be games. Many, many EXCLUSIVE games!

The Move failed and Kinect is not wanted because we have controllers.

I don't want to talk to my games. I want to control the little dudes on screen without saying commands or jumping like a jackass.

You spent a lot of time on the DS4, lets use it ;-)

They didn't revolutionize anything, but it definitely didn't fail.

There's a reason the Move was replaced by DS4. No one purchased a Move. I got one and used it for one game.

Media Molecule is still going to use it for an upcoming PS4 game. The thing definitely wasn't used as much as it should have been on PS3. My daughter used ours almost every day for about 7 months just for Eyepet. Just because you didn't use it, doesn't mean others didn't. Sony said they sold somewhere of 15 million of them.

i also remember someone saying something about Kinect revolutionizing gaming forever....because that happened.

obviously this will too revolutionize gaming
infact there's so much things that will revolutionize gaming this generation. like Wii U's stylus, Cable Tv, and eyeto- sorry, i meant PS Eye

handhelds have part in it too. obviously.
3D is a major thing because it's totally not a fad that died in a year or two.

and motion controls are super useful on Vita since there's atleast 2 games that take advantage of it.

The camera isn't forced upon the PS4 buyers. They can choose. Also it doesn't add 100 to the cost, nor does it take 10% of the GPU power away.

Before the XBONE couldn't even work without the dam thing, or it couldn't even be turned off.

Keep in mind... If this was a 2 horse race, just Nintendo and MS, you would have your DRM box, and a different gaming industry. Also elder scrolls online won't be on consoles. So be thankful for completion. And judge your own console first, before bashing another.

You dont even need the camera to use voice commands, just connect your mic to the controller and youre set. So...theres that. The value with the ps4 is unparalleled at $399

I love how it's being said that Microsoft "forcefully" included kinect. Um, the whole purpose of the Xbox One was to work with Kinect. Kinect is built into the core functionality. That's like saying that Nintendo forced a gamepad with a screen on it on us...it's called innovation.
