Dark Souls is a game built with incredible mechanics and immersed in a difficulty that punishes players in all the right ways. Playing the game for the first time can be an exercise in frustration and discovery as you discover that the game only gets easier as you get better.

"Souls Like" is a literal genre.
I'd just like to point out that Rise of the Ronin which recently released is in large part a Souls Like as is the upcoming Stellar Blade. And both games have 60 FPS.
More? Like every other game in the last
5 years has “Souls” elements or difficulty. I think we need to pump the brakes a bit Jesus they don’t all the the “grind or die”/“get good” mentality.
I remember when my Dark Souls virginity was taken. Good times.
I remember when I played Dark Souls for the first time, I immediately picked the Master Key. I felt that a key that could unlock any door would be useful right from the start and boy was I right. Just in case I was wrong though, I watched some youtube vids on the other gifts, and I was so glad I picked the Key. Lol.
Just started this game and a lot of this sounds familiar.
This game was simply amazing. Cant wait f or dark souls 2. It can be frustrating but with patience it isn't all that harf. I just love the combat, classes, the immersive environment. One of my favorites.
