Many people have said "consoles are dead". With increasing fragmentation (steam, PC gaming, mobile games, Ouya...), and the apparently unstoppable demise of Nintendo, it was clear to some that "dedicated gaming machines" were a thing of the past.
They were apparently wrong.
The article compares the sales of several generations of consoles in the US, and how the PS4 is setting a new record.
The Nerd Stash: “The letter scene in Grandia is a magnificent, layered early example of the game's wonderful NPC interactions, and a real tear-jerker.”
A third game in the Falconeer series has been announced as the second, Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles, launches.
While there’s a lot to love about modern video games, there is one trend — particularly in the AAA space — that tends to grate: their length.
Games are coming out with too much fluff and side activities that are horribly dull. That's my main issue with all these open world games. Open world should be about exploration, discovery and wonder, not have some stupid 10s or 100s of boring activities spread throughout.
I stopped buying overfluffed games like a decade ago. Cant stand games with the Ubisoft mindset of just filling maps with uselss collectibles and fodder. Make it mean something. Ill gladly take 1/4 size of the map and 1/10th the "content" if it all meant more, were more unique and greater affect on your progression.
Well people complained like the world was ending when a few games were six to ten hours of gameplay. Developers listened and started making longer games full of repetitive gameplay, time wasting fetch quest and other forms of bloat. In doing so they were able to justify the high cost of a game being sold to the customers at seventy dollars or more.
Filler, it's like a 80 episodes show where only the first and last episodes actually matter
Just proves that console gaming is as big as ever and is going NOWHERE. Happy gaming everyone.
1 millions PS4's SOLD in a single day in the USA alone http://images.wikia.com/adv...
As i have said a million times already. Mobile gaming will never replace console gaming.
Mobile gaming will never have
1. The graphics of console gaming
2. Screen size of console gaming
3. The sound of console gaming
4. The ease and fun of console gaming at home with friends
The majority of those kids playing mobile games will eventually grow up and want something more deep than mbile gaming. Its a given. Console gaming is here to stay and i don't see it going anywhere for the foreseeable future.
Proof that consoles aren't going anywhere.
Mobiles will NOT take over gaming.
Some people say that mobiles will 'dwarf' the PS4 and XBO in terms of power, but Iphones cost more than the PS4 and the XBO (when they first come out). Could you imagine how expensive that crap would be? It's barely possible anyway, as you would need to develop quantum physics for the damn phone to match the PS4/XBO. You can only make chips and processors so small before they fry like a chicken.
Console gaming is bigger than ever and it's not going ANYWHERE.
Not probably, it IS the fastest selling console of all time:
