Metal Gear always performs well surprisingly, despite it not really being talked about from most people. It's like a silent seller, not unlike Gran Turismo really (at least in the states). And I think the price tag will look nice to lots of people, driving even more sales.

I think people are worrying too much on the "30 dollars for one mission" thing. There could be much more after the destruction of Mother Base for all we know. And more things before the rescue mission as well.

And what we do know if you've been paying attention, is that there will be LOADS of side things to mess around with in the area like Metal Gear always does.

I don't think there's anything to fret about concerning the separate releases.

xPhearR3dx3813d ago

My problem is they portrayed it as one title, but with two parts. Meaning, it would ship together. Depending on how many games are out on PS4 (Plus PC since I'm primarily a PC gamer), I might just hold off on Ground Zeroe's and purchase them both once 5 releases.

GTA V was kind of similar with GTA Online launching after GTA V, and that two week wait was a pain in the ass. It's like, okay you saw half the game, now wait for the rest. I feel I'd enjoy MGS5/GZ as a whole by playing them back to back without a possible massive wait in between.

jay23813d ago

Online wasn't and really still isn't ready to launch with gta v. There the difference. Gta online wasn't ready, gz will be.

xPhearR3dx3813d ago

@jay2

What? GTA Online has been flawless for me. I only had issues up until day 3. After that, I've had no issues what so ever. Plus, GTA Online is exactly that. Online. Plus the fastest selling game of all time. To be fully up and running for me in 3 days is pretty damn good. GZ won't be online (at least to my knowledge).

My main point is, GTA Online was a HUGE part of GTA V, just like GZ is going to be a HUGE part for MGS5. Releasing them separate and on a much bigger waiting scale is going to be very painful.

SoulMikeY3813d ago

First off, online NEVER counts as "part of a game" it is an addition to it. GTA online is an extra, you paid $60 for story mode. Secondly, if TPP is 300x bigger, it should be a hundred dollar video game right? No. Because you're already getting a hell of a deal paying $60.

So shut up and tell them thank you for the $30 game I should be paying $60 for.

F***ing babies.

xPhearR3dx3813d ago

@SoulMikeY

Online never counts as part of the game? Says who? The rules by SoulMikeY? So I guess people who buy World of Warcraft are paying for the single player right? Oh wait.

GTA Online is only accessible by the GTA V disc. Meaning I paid $60 for SP and MP. Had GTA Online been a free separate download, then you would have a point.

I shouldn't be thanking anyone for these two games at their price because I haven't played them to know if the price justifies the game itself.

Im going to clarify this stuff about the "one mission" thing right now. It is not one mission in a gameplay perspective. It is only one mission in the sense that Big Boss is going to Cuba solely to extract Chico and Paz for his mission. MGS 1 was only one mission too don't forget. Kojima said that GZ is a pretty big game and is multple missions long. Phantom Pain is 300 times bigger than GZ and is open world. 30 dollars for GZ is worth it in my opinion.

xPhearR3dx3813d ago

Wait. GZ isn't open world?

_FantasmA_3813d ago

I get what your saying, but if Pain is 300 times bigger, then GZ should be 300 times less cheaper. I think its $30? but that is too much. I'd gladly pay $15-$20 as a digital download, but only it its a month or two before Pain is released. Otherwise, I'd rather save my money from Pain.

Irishguy953813d ago

Didn't know it was cheaper than a full release, I will see what happens when it comes out. See how long it is etc.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3813d ago

Official fact sheet for GZ. http://www.dualshockers.com... trying to educate people on GZ so they don't keep thinking its just one measely mission like the Demo they showed off was. It is a relatively big game for thirty dollars.

joe903813d ago

People spend $60 on 4 hour games so i'm sure people don't mind spending $30 on potentially 10-15 hours of MGS:GZ

Buy it people. 2014 can potentially be the best year in gaming in a looong time if these games come out, Zelda wiiu,Monolith's X,FF15,MGSV, Witcher 3,Naughtydog's game, last guardian,Halo5, Heroes of the Storm and Watchdogs,

EXVirtual3813d ago

I'm probably not gonna buy it.
I'll buy the Phantom Pain, but not this, since it might be bundled with Phantom Pain later.
That being said, yeah. 2014 is shaping up to be a great year for gaming. BTW, what are you getting MGSGZ on?

_QQ_3813d ago

PS4, i plan on getting one around spring or summertime next year.

-Foxtrot3813d ago (Edited 3813d ago )

This...totally this

Whats the point in buying this when you can get it included with MGSV. Of all the bundles and collections they#ve done over the years they will do it.

I don't want them continuing this trend of doing downloadable stuff for main games, it's like a prologue to MGSV like what Snakes tanker missions were in MGS2. Why should I pay more for the overall game being spilt into two parts.

Irishguy953813d ago

Yeah could be a great year, I don't think FFXV will release next year though. 2015 I believe.

SoulMikeY3813d ago

It will. SE has no "money makers" in 2014. LR:FFXIII is this year for Japan. FFXV will be a worldwide release seeing as it's a main title. So late 2014 is the only option.

Plus English voice is already being recorded, which is usually one of, if not THE last things they do.

xPhearR3dx3813d ago

In a long time? You crazy? 2013 has been incredible for gaming. GTA V, The Last of Us, Path of Exile, Metro Last Light, Tomb Raider, Ni No Kuni just to name a few.

BadlyPackedKeebab3813d ago

tis when it tis. Late 2014 will be full of must buys anyway so spring 2015 is a good place to put it really.

ExitToExisT3813d ago

I will not buy Ground Zeroes if it is like 2 hours.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3813d ago

It will be much longer than that. I dont' understand why people think it's only going to be some little mission and that's it. Kojima said it's is relatively large game and will consist of several missions.

MrSwankSinatra3813d ago

it's one mission not several that has been confirmed by konami themselves and every other video game site out there. sorry but i'm not buying ground zeroes because knowing konamis greedy asses there will be a a version of phantom pain that comes with ground zeroes.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3813d ago

@MrSwankSinatra: Im sorry but you're wrong. When they announced that GZ is sold separately it said that it is one mission but wasn't clarified at that time what that meant. Now we know that it is one mission from a story standpoint just like MGS 1 was only one mission which was the Shadow Moses mission. Heres the official fact sheet released a few days ago. http://www.dualshockers.com...

Luke_fon_Fabre3813d ago

I don't think the main story of it will be that short, but it will not be that long. BUT, there will likely be a plethora of bonus missions à la Peace Walker.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan169d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara169d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721169d ago (Edited 169d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus169d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga185d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19185d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19185d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq184d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger185d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder185d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils185d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder185d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85185d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac185d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420185d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim185d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo184d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
