I can't even look at these insane MS fanboys and their new level of delusion saying the XBone version looked better without shaking my head, it's quite unbelievable.

The AA was shocking compared, it couldn't handle the higher resolution that the PS4 had, it had insane amount of lens flare to hide the cracks, and not one critic in the industry has said the XBone version looked better.. In fact it's the exact opposite.

This should surely be a home run for Sony's console, but what is likely to be a software-based upscale to 1080p delivers less-than-stellar returns, and for better or worse leaves the Xbox One with an often crisper looking, albeit much more aliased image.

Posting this again.. But to clarify, I'm not saying x1 is better or any such thing... But it isn't clear cut... Ps4 shines in areas but not across the board..

The article clearly says the x1 appears to have a crisper image despite being at a supposed resolution disadvantage.. Tho when both consoles are upscaling to 1080, I can't see how reviewers can definitively conform native resolution

XBox One has a big installable texture pack.
PS4 should be able to handle big textures better than Xbox one (the whole PS4 memory is a high speed texture memory)

It could be that PS4 SP runs with good enough texture packs streamed from Bluray. Time will tell...

In my calculation the PS4 is outputting >55% more pixels than the 720. The 720 is outputting 36% less. Depends on the direction looked...

ps4: 1600x900 = 1.440.000 pixel
720: 1280x720 = 0.921.600 pixel

921.600 x 1.5625 = 1.440.000 pixel
1.440.000 x 0.64 = 0.921.600 pixel

Wrong! Cell was a beast and still is. RSX is inferior. Cell is around 220 GFLOPS, X360 CPU is around 115 GFLOPS. X360 Xenos is around 240 GFLOPS, PS3's RSX around 180 GFLOPS. And split pool of RAM is the problem in PS3.

The blurry textures is because when you set a native 900p game to be upscaled to 1080p, the textures get stretched out to fit the screen. Consoles use the optimum or highest resolution setting for each game.

How do I know it was an upscaled to 1080p vs native 720p comparasion? Notice how the HUD on the PS4 version is farther into the corner, signifying a higher resolution was used.

All of those images shows the PS4 with no jagged lines. And I have a feeling some of the comparasions didn't use the RGB setting set to full like how the PS3 has but that I don't know.

By the way, the upscale blurriness, it's what you're going to be seeing in Ryse, trust me and other native 900p games. :)

Can someone tell me why everyone was upset with the comparison Digital Foundry did? From some images I saw, the PS4 one looked better but sometimes it looked hazy and looked like it had less detail. Is that right or is it just me?

Its like sony purposely told ea to push the resolution, and sacrifice details, so sony could claim they have the better version.

Here we are, PS3 with more hardware sales, and the best exclusives since 2009. 360 has a dry exclusive lineup for the past 2 years, then jump for joy over more launch titles. How many 360 exclusives dropoed in 2013? Its sad you cant see the sh!t storm coming when PS4's exclusive beasts get announced/released in 2014.

Lol i love reading all these comments. I've Pre Ordered the PS4 due to personal preference. There are millions of kids who won't be getting any console on launch or in their lifetime.. Be grateful for what you're going to be getting. Lets not hate on one another lets unit as CONSOLE Gamers..

Really if you want the best option just get pc version other than that the xb1 version looked nice.

If you want the best option on consoles just get the PS4 version. Makes sense since the console is 100$ cheaper than the Xbox One.

However get an Xbox One if your interested in Kinect, the Xbox One controller or the exclusives on the console.

I can pretty much guarantee M$' doesn't make this mistake again as far as putting lower specs in there console. The PR alone is a nightmare to deal with in order to save maybe a few dollars a console.

No way XB1 makes it ten years as the main console. I agree that they will have it on the market for the time to come for the casual person with the other voice tech inside which I must say is sorta interesting. I'll buy one sometime next year when they drop the price.

I bet M$ launches another console in 5yrs realizing they f$&ked this launch up and the things a beast. They let Sony walk all over them and rain supreme once again when they killed it last gen. I owned both however the 360 was my gaming system of choice but I will be going back to the Sony line for this gen for sure.

The ps4 probably has a slight edge but when you hype up the crap out of a rumor than people are expecting to see a night and day difference which sadly isn't the case.
